Around PA Subarus are a dime a dozen, so I see a lot of WRXs and STIs out here and know some guys. I never wave at any and I've never had any wave at me, but that's not a bother so much. I did have one guy in a nicely modded WRX pull up alongside an say "Nice car". I do however notice that a lot of them simply don't even notice my BRZ, although how intentional that is who knows.

Houston native as well and i would have to agree. Haven't really noticed any ill reactions from them and the ones I've met have been pretty chill and approachable.

I think they're offended that they're no longer the sporty Subaru, they're the heavy Subaru. They're still athletic, but they feel like the stocky sister that plays field hockey and softball, not the graceful sister that studies ballet.

hahah well put

We are the bastard Subaru.... Too Toyota to chill with the Subie and nobody wants to chill with current Toyotas (I still look at the Celica and MR2 guys though)

In my area the WRX/STI are the cars of choice for every sort-of-car-guy. Its logical in my area. 6 months out of the year there is 2 feet of snow on the ground so they want something cool looking, quick, and that they can drive year round and they really don't care any more than that. So most of the time they have no idea what my car is nor do they care that we have the same heritage. Rarely there is a gear-head that waves.

I receive a lot of awkward glances on the highway. From everyone. Probably because I am driving backwards.

I'm one of the only noticeabelly (spelling? lol) modified BRZ's around here in Millstone, NJ so I always get tons of love from the majority of stock guys. There's a dude with a firestorm orange FRS, heavily modified (looks AMAZING) and he hasn't shown love about 3x now. Done waving to him lol. If you're in this forum let's nerd out sometime brah

Saw a Series.Blue the other week and pulled up besides him, even a little ahead on the side for him to see my car but he never once looked over. I've probably got a bit more love from WRX/STi than FRS/BRZ. Most FRS/BRZ don't even look my way but I could tell maybe those people aren't into the scene as much as others who eyes immediately spot out FRS/BRZ. I know as soon as I see one my eyes are on it and I'll drive up next to them but I could just be overexcited.
