Don't worry. Given the size of the /system partition, there isn't that much bloat that could be added - even if I tried. I'll be more focused on just getting the out-of-box experience to be a bit nicer/better suited for our cars.

I am now more and more convinced that several subsystems are simply audio and/or video inputs, that the headunit switches between. (DVD, Reversing camera, AuxIn, Radio) Out of the box, the only exception to this has been the Sygic navigation system, which 'dims' the background audio and then overlays the navigation directions. From testing, I have found that this happens magically happens when you bind the Navi button to the app in the settings menu. If you set the Navi app to something else - like Angry Birds, then that app's audio starts working. This may help out some of the other folks having audio issues with their Sygic replacement - make sure that the Navi button is set to your custom GPS app to get the audio mixing to work correctly. |

Hmmm interesting...
Does anyone knows how to raise the volume of the voices in the Sygic app? Everything works (sd card mp3 and/or radio gets volumed down when Sygic 'speaks', but I would like to have the speaking a bit louder... Now I need to really focus in order to hear the instructions of the Sygic app... Been looking into all the Sygic sound notification options but I can't find a general volume adjust slider... (I use Sygic 13.1.4 with Europe maps)(also Sygic is linked with the Navi button) Last edited by krikke; 07-30-2013 at 04:55 PM. |

Firmware Update
Ok folks, I've been playing around with the firmware some more...
v3: here v3
v2
Also contains all the previous changes, like a working Google Maps API framework. This update required changes to uramdisk.img, as well as system.img. Rather than requiring Hal9k's file set to be downloaded, I have bundled all required files into a single archive, available here or here. [Links to v2 REMOVED] To install the firmware, follow the excellent instructions in the first post of this thread, but use these files instead. If you have previously installed the MCU update, then there is no need to reapply it again. Trap63 (or anyone else for that matter) - Feel free to mirror this file. I did a test the other day and found that I actually got better d/l rates from box.com, but it may have something to do with where the server is located relative to the downloader. If you PM me the details I'll update this post. Last edited by GreenPants; 08-03-2013 at 07:32 AM. Reason: Back-out v2, add v3 |

It's not something I'll be looking into, I'm afraid - I'm not planning of having it paired with my phone. You could ask the folks on the OUKU thread over on xda-developers if they ever got anywhere with their proposed MIC mods. Some have even thought of using a USB Audio mic without much luck. |

I guess the Ekoore unit I have uses a different rom then the units used here... Anyway I did a reset of the unit and reinstalled Sygic and now the volume is louder... So for the moment this issue is 'resolved'. |
