It's being tested on a 2JZ car currently to work out the kinks, should know more very soon, just don't want to jump the gun.

Might do my swap locally and just wait for the ecu option
Edit; I have a spare ultra series’s manifold just like this that I paid nearly 650$ for and the reason I couldn’t use it on my other k20 project car was because it would’ve required me to remove power steering and AC. I had to purchase the smaller ultra street instead of the ultra race pictured here. Do you see that as a potential problem?

Haven't gotten to addressing the AC issue, there is no power steering needed, so a custom belt setup will be needed

Is the weight savings really in the 100 pound range?

This reliability / power level for a gutted, stripped out track car without the need for HVAC, etc sounds mighty tempting when compared to the LS swap's weight gain over the front axles...even with the mountain of trq it brings.

How deep is the sump of the Kswap oil pan? Having less susceptibility to oil starvation in sustained corners on sticky tires is just icing on the cake if this works out

The S2000 trans weighs roughly the same as the 86 trans, and the FA20 weighs ~390 lbs fully dressed. K24 with starter, alternator, and header weighs ~300 lbs. Swap the AC over and I get ~60-70 lbs difference.

Idk about emissions but after a lot of researching on which to get, it looks like the K24A2 in the TSX.

The K24Z7 is the newest one but I didn't read too much into it, I'm guessing the K24A2 is also what Pure Automotive has as well since it has the Acura badge on it in the picture.

Just so everyone knows Collins makes an adaptor to adapt the K24 to a CD-009 trans out of a 350z. The adaptor kit comes with a clutch as well. Would take a little bit of fabrication compared to the s2000 trans but is way stronger. For those guys that would want to go turbo. http://collinsadapters.com/index.php...ation-kit.html

What kind of throttle body will be used? Does the S2000 transmission line up with the OEM FRS shifter location? OEM S2000 shifter can be used?

Like I posted earlier, HASport says a K24 with axles, manifolds, accessories and transmission weighs 413lbs. Subtract the transmission, axles and p/s pump weight from the listed K motor weight and you're looking at an easy 100 pound reduction up front of the 86 compared to the FA20. Maybe more depending on manifolds used, etc

You're entitled to your opinion. My research did not lead me to believe a K24 with intake, headers, AC, accessories, and swap mounts would easily weigh less than 280 lbs.

Vorshlag states the FA20 and transmission weighs 480lbs. HASport says a fully dressed engine and transmission with axles is 413, which means we start off with a difference of 67 pounds. Now subtract the weight of the Honda's halfshaft assemblies, hydraulic power steering pump, and the difference between the OEM cast iron exhaust manifold and tubular header (no getting around that in a swap like this), and you're likely close to the remaining ~30 pounds. Also, I would hazard a guess that our 90 pound transmission weighs substantially less than a fwd transaxle for a similarly powered and weighted vehicle, given the absence of a ring gear/differential assembly. Unless I'm overlooking something, all that easily adds up to a conservative 100 pounds.

What would easily settle this is if they weighed the car before the swap (unless it was stock then we know the weight) and then a post swap weight. Im suspecting a 70-80lb weight reduction. All off the front end. which would be wonderful.
