UPDATE: All parts are already spoken for/sold. Thanks!
Traded in my 10 series for a 2017 BRZ with Performance Package. Does anyone need: * Factory 10 series touch up paint. Still seems like there's plenty left. * Dr. ColorChip kit for 10 series. Used once. Still 90% full (tried it once). * Front bumper tow hook cover (Silver Ignition). Cover the shipping, and you can have this 10 series stuff for free. Hi guys! Recently joined the 86 family with my 10 Series! I've only had it about 5 weeks but I'm loving every minute. Even sitting in 5mph LA traffic is more fun than my last car.

Dumb question, how many of you never pulled the plastic file from the 10 Series numbered placard so it never gets scratched?
I think I'm going to finally pull mine and put a piece of PPF or glass over it. A lot of effort a piece of glow in the dark plastic with a number on it. |

Might be easier getting a silver or white one and having it painted silver ignition? Then again, are many body shops able to paint aluminum without it peeling off? Last edited by dnieves; 08-02-2017 at 01:58 AM. |

Maybe if you have a wedding ring it gets scratched more? Opinion: Badges on the front and rear have yellowed and look horrible in the sunlight. Has any 10 series owner successfully disconnected the badges, covered the holes, and tossed on some Avalon badges? Or is there a way to un-yellow the plastic, short of buying new badges. |

Where has it yellowed? You mean the translucent part under the logo where the white and blue LEDS shine out of? I haven't seen any yellowing on mine. I wonder if it's like when headlights yellow/oxidize, meaning if you remove the top layer with ultra fine sandpaper or toothpaste it's clear underneath? Here's a tip for yellowed plastic removal on a classic Nintendo Famicom: http://www.retrofixes.com/2013/10/ho...-plastics.html |

Boomarked link. Thanks! If it is as simple as some sandpaper, awesome! If I have to take the thing off the car and go through a treatment process, I might just toss the badges and find some plastic to fill the hole and paint it with the Ignition Silver touchup paint, then drop on a Toyota badge. |

If you toss 'em could I have them? I'd like to try the various anti yellowing methods out there. BTW: I found a good one on YouTube for faded black plastic (like our windshield cowls). Use a heat gun set on low and keep passing it over the plastic part (as though you were spray painting it). In the video it was said it works better if it's hot outside already and don't melt the part or hurt yourself (common sense isn't so common I suppose). I found this method also applied to scuffed/scratched interior plastic panels -you can scuff a part on a 8th gen Honda Civic Si if you look at it hard enough. Good luck! |

Lol, I'm not sure I trust myself with using a heat gun on the car, but it is an interesting thought. |
