Does anyone knows which brakes are best for these 16" wheels?
Street & track use.

Any thoughts on 16/7"?

The factory brakes are surprisingly good. With proper pad selection for the intended application, it will work very well. BBK is recommended for those who go through brake pads very quickly and have significant issues managing the heat capacity of the brake pads.

We would have to get a reconfirmation on that size. We'll send it over to the TWS engineers.

Just can't justify the cost yet. *Le sigh*.
TWS wheels went up in price recently due to material cost increase.

There were other very light wheels that looked better, but most of them are discontinued/very hard to find.
That has been discussed over the past couple of years. The engineers are receptive to our input.

It's imho not so much engineering then rather business decision, how long some model gets produced or how big batch was. Hard to blame them, as due price forged wheels are much narrower niche products then more mass products like cast ones. Too expensive to keep big unsold inventory of such. Meanwhile .. can anyone tell, how much lightest 17" TWS that can be fit on ours and has native 5x100 pattern & reasonable offset, weight? Yes, 16x7 beats many others of 16" size, but how well these do among very lightest 17" ones?

Hmm, that's almost same weight as cast Kosei K4R 17x7 (6.35kg). Yes, i'm sure that T66-F are much stronger, and it's for 1" wider wheel .. still, a bit pitty that no uber low weight as for 16x7 one. From currently produced ones IIRC Volk TE37 SL 17" were lighter, weren't they?

No 8/17" wheel is lighter than this I believe.
They would also be able to made 7/17" if you/we order more than few sets.

The closest T66-F to the 17x7 that would fit is the 17x8 in 5x100 on this link. They weigh 6.32kg
http://www.tws-forged.com/tws_t66-f.html

Value for money those K4R wheels are a very good price for the weight.

17x8 is around 14.3lbs. One of our clients purchased a set last year and has them on his car. 16x7 would be around 10.6lbs, however, tire choice is a little less versatile. We prefer overall balance between cornering grip, driving predictability, tire management, and straightline speed.

Sorry, haven't been on here for a while. As CSG_David said below, stock brakes until you find them lacking. The old WRX (Sumitomo) 4 pots went under some pretty brake unfriendly 16" wheels and have piston sizes that work well on the BRZ, so I'd be looking towards that as a possibility if you wanted to experiment.

My stock brakes wont clear 16" I think. We have 298mm discs here not 286.

Just to bump this thread up for fun, does anyone actually run these wheels, what is the smallest size that would fit on our car, and how crazy expensive are they?

They seem to be the lightest wheels for our car, but I probably missed one somewhere. I am kind of obsessive.
