Google my username if u like so you can understand my frame of reference. What you will see is I've owned a 1988 RX7 turbo, 1988 conquest, a Supra twin turbo 6speed, ive gone thru 3 e39 m5's, 5 or so acura legends, and 3 acura nsx's. I can honestly say the FRS is my favorite so far. I wouldn't have gone any other route. I'm already thinking of my next purchase for when the Turbo potentially comes out. It's honestly a great car, a nice throwback to my conquest to be honest, but more nimble. I have yet to floor the car yet tho as I am still in my break in period. will update you then.

P.s. part of the reason i like it so much is it's my daily driver and "nice car" in one package. it's economical, killer looks, and enthusiast written all over it. I love it)

Because this car is fun to drive in AT so it's probably 10x more fun to drive with MT. MT offers more control and paddle shifters although they're useful, are still pretty lame on AT.

all true! in a word, control!

[quote=SUB-FT86;552314]I know this. But I thought he was going to say because of the shitty gearing in comparison to the manual which makes for a slightly slower car. If the gearing was way better on the automatic I would easily choose it simply because I hate clutches on most manual transmissions. And then on top of that plenty guys are complaining about gear grind with this manual transmission and lack of clutch engagement feel. That's 2 major strikes that would piss me off.[/QUO

For me adding a clutch won't make it 10x better IMO. Adding 50-60 extra lb ft of torque through the whole torqueband would be 10x or more better for me. I love paddles! Your hands stay where they need to be at all times.

I'm right there with you. I leased a '12 S4 from January to June when I was a sales rep for Audi (6mo. company lease, very sweet deal) After 6 months and 12,000 miles, I wasn't too sad to see it go. Brilliant, blistering-fast car but too sterile for my liking. I'm sure when I'm older I'll revisit another Audi, though. Thankfully the BRZ Limited has all the luxury features I enjoyed in the S4 - keyless access, navigation, bluetooth, leather/alcantara heated seats, HID's, etc. Just in a much lighter, more nimble package.

I have a Red Limited Auto coming to me soon. With my commute, an MT is not even an option. I just have to remind myself of the times my left leg was sore with the daily afternoon grind in my last MT, a MR2T. I even went for SMG in my last bimmer, an e46 m3, is how much I dread MTs.

That said, the only 'upcoming' regret with my purchase is that the BRZ's autobox may not be able to handle much power upgrades.

Admittedly I do miss the "indescribable unless you drive it" low-end torque, but the FR-S is 3x the fun

I went with the FR-S with no goodies (and I had the S4 prestige) so I went from tech overload to bare-bones, but I don't mind. Probably the only thing I miss is the keyless entry to be honest. I hate having to approach the car with keys in hand and hold onto them while getting in (always afraid I'm going to scratch something). Wish I could just keep it in my pocket

P.S.

how about that A2DP bluetooth streaming on a 25-30k car when Audi still doesn't have it completely right on a 50-60k car, even in 2013!!!!

Oh I know, isn't it ironic? I had a customer almost buy a Ford Escape over a 2012 Audi Q5 because there wasn't bluetooth streaming. They used to have it with MMI ver.2 if I understand correctly, but ver.3 doesn't. I guess the new version does, though.

so just sell it to a private party, lose like 50 dollars on the transactions thanks to supply and demand, then go buy one.

The only regret I will have, is if they revamp the car for 2014 or 15. If the car stays basically the same for a few years I will be happy, but I want to be able to sell it and not be completely upside down when the new car comes out.
