In hindsight, I'd probably be having just as much fun if I bought an older car for <$10k and spent the same ~$6k on modifications and I'd have $15k+ in the bank.

BUT as I'm nearing 60k on my FR-S I'd probably have spent a few thousand bucks and weekends getting grease under my fingernails on maintaining an older car that I simply haven't had to do on this one.

I spent more on mods then buying the car brand new at this point

lol and here I am thinking that I couldn't justify spending more than about $12k-$13k on it even if I had the money.

My thoughts basically to a T.

I'd love to say "eh, I'd have no problem spending my weekends wrenching on shit". But at this point, I can't. I work way too damn much to do anything through the week, my weekends are occupied with the woman, golfing, cottage time, relaxing, etc. I can tell that my desire to do serious amounts of work on the car have gone waaaaaaay down by what happened the weekend. I got the car jacked up, was going to put the stock header back on, and then when I got to the second pop rivet on the undertray, I said to myself "screw this, I can use this hour and a bit way better".

Well, @Cole ....... it's downhill from here on out.

I pull my car out of the garage, gonna wash it......think .... why? .... it's just gonna rain tomorrow. Vac out the inside, clean the windshield, shine up the exhaust tips (cause that's what I look at while approaching the car) and wipe off that bump on the left front fender (cause that's what I see when I'm driving).

Some days I work on her, drive her and absolutely love her and want to out more work into her. Sometimes I wish I never bought her. I'm not sure how to really explain it.

I also think she is against aftermarket modifications because I have had lots of trouble and bad luck trying to modify her lol.

Don't ship the snail to dad. It will end up as a coaster, door stop, etc.
