Series 9 is wider so you get more cooling area.

I'm interested in this as well. Specifically as it relates to the Setrab 15 Row Series 9 and the 19 Row Series 6. I've attached some specs below for each cooler from this page: http://www.setrabusa.com/products/oi...ine/index.html

I'm new to modifying and appreciate the expertise/education I receive here.

My research has found that the Setrabs cores are the one of the best out there and the Mocal sandwich T-Stat plate is good too.

So have I really disadvantaged myself by grabbing parts for a DIY Oil Cooler system with proven parts?

Thanks in advance...

Width, which affects pressure drop.

I plan on installing my own kit with the stock FC Rx7 oil cooler I have left over form one of my many builds. That thing kept oil temps in check in my turbo blow through hybrid 13B that made 350whp. It should be good enough for old Blue Betsy. Total money spent: $110. FC oil coolers can be had from $20-$100 depending on condition. THey also have an internal thermostatic valve that bypasses the cooler until oil reaches 180*

based on pressure drop and considering these motors are oil pressure testy from what i've seen why would you want the 9-series? seems like overkill especially for an n/a application.

Don't mean to thread jack but lots of vendor input and my question is basically similar. I just need something that mounts to the passenger side also able to cool enough turbo at track in Miami weather. I can't really use the JR as my intercooler prevents it. Only other I've seen to fit my needs is full blowns kit. Suggestions? @vroom4 @Maximal

The Setrab 613 (13 row) seems to work well on these cars but if you have more room we can go larger.

We can piece a kit together for you that includes the sandwich plate, lines (with fittings on them), all adapters, and the core. Basically I'd need to know line length and you'd have to come up with a way to mount it but everything else would be set.

I'm not sure on the length of line. I'd have to ask Fullblown what they used for their passenger mounted. The mounting would be my issue, I have very limited resources to attach this anywhere on the passenger side.

I could probably figure out line length and just give you a bit extra to take into account slight mounting differences. As for the mounting itself if you were local it would be a simple solution and we could develop a kit for passenger side mounting but I'm just not sure if the interest is there plus it would take some time.

I'm sure there's a somewhat simple way in there to mount it but it just depends on your capabilities.
