Setup Help Please
I'm hoping that my fellow tracksters can give me a bit of good advice!
My goal is to get my FRS to stop murdering the outer edges of my front and rear tires when I do HPDE's... Current Suspension Setup: Whiteline top hats, Whiteline 16mm 3 way rear sway bar set full stiff(equal to 17mm bar), camber bolts, RCE Yellow springs(stock shocks), Motegi 7.5in rims, Michelin 225/45/17 Super Sports. These changes allowed for -2.3 camber up front and -2.1 in the rear. I purchased the car for practice between my SCCA races but after just two track days the outer edges of all four tires are gone. To try and remedy the situation I installed the Whiteline rear bar that I mentioned above after the first track day. The car had a little push and was rolling a lot so I thought the bar would be the fix. It does push less with the bar set full stiff but there is still too much roll which hurt the outer edges of the tires even further on the 2nd track day. So now I'm wondering if upping the front bar to 20mm from the stock 18mm bar will get rid of the excessive roll, and hopefully not bring back the push as it will keep more of the tire on the tarmac. What do you all think? |

That's a tire and/or tire pressure issues.
I would first chalk your tires and increase the pressure until the tire isn't rolling over. If you cannot get that to happen, your tire has too soft of a sidewall and you should get a tire more suited to track days |

Definitely look into a front sway bar. I too was killing my tire shoulders but a combination of 20mm front bar and improved driving (i.e. not trying to be a late-braking hero) has resulted in considerably less wear.
I wouldn't be worried about push, I noticed a decrease in entry and mid-corner understeer after upgrading only the front bar, probably due to more grip from a better contact patch, as you mentioned. |

Agreed with the above. Tire pressure can play a big part here and should be step one.
A front bar WILL help too. - Andy |

For reference sake my tires(Michelin Super Sports) were coming in at 39-40psi hot. Should they be run much hotter than that?
I didn't chalk my tires though... |

Ok, so a 20mm front sway bar will be ordered, but what hot pressure should I look for on the Michelin Super Sports?
