Ehhh... I'd love to get some rumble and more HP out of the car with the headers and a tune, but I also don't want to fail the sniffer every time I have to get my emissions checked, or have to put a stock header on just to pass.

Great for track cars though.

Yes sir. It's part of the reason why I'm not really messing with the car as much as most people. I just don't want to deal with the hassle later.

Great for track cars though.

I have been reading that CA smog for newer cars won't have a sniffer anymore, just OBD2 reading. Supposedly changed this year.

http://www.bar.ca.gov/80_BARResource...esentation.pdf

http://www.the370z.com/southern-cali...-1-2013-a.html

Quote:
Currently California's smog check procedure requires all vehicles undergo a tailpipe emissions inspection to measure harmful pollutant output from the tailpipe, a visual inspection for present and properly installed emissions components, a functional test to insure the proper operation of various emission components; and as part of the functional test, an OBD II computer diagnostic check.

Under AB 2289, the tailpipe emissions portion of the smog inspection will be eliminated for 2000 model and newer cars, trucks, vans, and SUVs.
...
AB 2289 now requires the smog test inspection to rely on data from a vehicle's own on board emissions computer to determine the vehicle's harmful emissions production as opposed to using a smog machine to sample the vehicle's emissions output from the tailpipe. This design is expected to reduce the cost of equipment at the smog station, reduce the amount of time it takes to smog check a vehicle, and reduce the cost of the smog inspection to the consumer.

Where's the header made? Here in NorCal or elsewhere?

Yeah this is great news, but unfortunately it's still up to the discretion of the shop. I had my 2007 tC smogged earlier this year in March and they still used a sniffer in the exhaust pipe.

Yes. You'll need some camber and quarter panel rolling.

I think the shops have some time to change equipment/procedures but eventually they will apply this to all newer cars. It's just easier for them so it wouldn't make sense to do more work. Or we could start a list/db of local shops that do the OBD2-only test.

You may want to check online. They don't always mail anymore. They didnt for my failure to stop ticket. Did you have plates on the car or did they run your DL?

I have had to tighten my grim speed mount once about 3 months after installed. Then I torqued the shit out of it and its been good ever since beyond when I hit it crooked myself.

Our fenders are already rolled I'm pretty sure.

The rears are not rolled. He was asking about the rears. I see the mistake I made above, fixed it.
