Looks to be an interesting concept.

* does the bearing make constant contact with the pressure plate fingers?

* how is the bearing lubricated?

Thanks,

With no pressure the piston just touches the fingers not constant pressure the bearing is sealed and replaceable.
The entire unit is rebuildable at a fraction of original cost. Seals and base are rated at over 1 million cycles.
Im beating the heck out of it now trying to make it fail purposely riding the clutch shifting more than needed randomly pumping the pedal while driving let the car idle for a few hours sit at traffic lights holding the clutch in. ect..., but the amount of research and time is spent researching and designing parts I want this to be the last time anyone has to replace it.

Are you referring to the movement of the rotation of the contact surface? If that is the question its not Tiltons part it is re-engineered the only part that is Tiltons is the base and seals.
Piston Bearing and contact surface is not an off the self part from Tilton.

Wow! I'm beginning to understand. You really did go all out.

To rephrase my question, is there allowance for the bearing and contact surface to float into position coaxial to the pressure plate under load?

entire unit is dead centered to the clutch. if there was any movement it can slide on the contact surface and there is movement of the piston in any direction X Y Z axis inside the seals it can shift around.

Definitely looking forward to this as I'm always paranoid about my clutch system going bad (which I think it is).

Depends If the Height of the pressure plate changes from factory height.
I have a little bit of give in the bearing to support a taller Pressure plate but if it is too tall I will have to custom one off the base to adjust the height. Unlike the original fork which has full movement this piston can only move so much before falling out. So it has to be engineered within the tolerance of space and available movement of the clutch its self.

As for heavier plate ratings no problems at all. Its hydraulic.

I built a setup like this back when i had a faceplated tremec trans behind an fa20. Much better feel than a fork and way more reliable (bent forks). Solid setup, nice work

I've seen these things floating around for a while and was curious if they were/are worth the outlay. Subbed
