Feel sorry for guys in LA

Your highways are terrible.

I drove through SoCal the last few days, from the 10 into LA up the 5 to San Ramon, some of the side highways, they are going to beat the hell out of your car.

Arizona has some of the smoothest and most well-kept roads in the nation, so our sense of road smoothness is somewhat skewed according to the majority of the nation.

But you are right, generally the roads in southern california are wrecked.

I definitely got to play with the handling.....dodging potholes, shredded tires, and 150000 honda civics.

Also, Ive been to the 48 states, and at least 90% of the major cities, I think Mississippi was the worst (3 foot deep holes in the freeway)....I had forgotten how rough SoCal is.

Don't forget about the traffic...

Actually traffic isn't that bad. Back when I lived in Hawaii it would take me up to an hour to drive about 5-10 miles during rush hour

+1 I love you LA, but the 405 and the 10 are a joke when it comes to unevenness, and pot holes.

The 10 is a horrible freeway. All the smooth freeways are in Orange County and are a blast to drive late at night with no traffic

haha, I have to agree with everything... but sometimes... PCH at night with no traffic makes up for it =]

Traffic = the worst though. I miss San Diego.

you should try Ortega Highway at night.

After they fixed the road its an AWESOME Canyon drive. Only very very VERY minor issue is that there aren't as many corners as Azusa but there's a lot of wide turns.

True and I did that. Although expect to get to your destination drenched in sweat because of the heat and humidity

One good thing about Hawaii compared to LA is the public transportation is actually good/great.

Almost everywhere else compared to LA's public transportation puts it to shame. Was in Boston on business for a couple months and it was worlds different. Still haven't found anywhere as good as Japan though, but their country is a lot smaller after all.

Love Hawaii, it's like my second home. All my family is from the islands so I'm there at least once or twice a year.
And yea public transportation there is awesome from the buses and trolleys available.
