the fr-s is faster??the caliber has a lot more hp and torque. anyways, i think its the ugliest sporty car ever made. they could've literally made it with 500hp and 10000 torque and I still wouldn't have ever considered it.

I have not really kept up with Dodges much besides my '86 turbo Daytona I just sold.. How quick are the calibers? And how do they compare to the turbo pt cruisers?
I walked a turbo pt in my frs. Pretty damn bad. And I had a passenger. And mine was bone stock.

And I think they are butt ugly. In a straight line they are pretty quick. But that is about all they have going for them. |

There's nothing super impressive about them. In fact despite being considerably more powerful they are slower in every way compared to their predecessor, the Neon SRT4.

The Caliber SRT-4 stock is a mid to low 14 sec car in the quarter. They only made the SRT model for 2 years I believe and they can be OK cars I guess. I think one just broke into the 10s. I personally am not a fan. I have a Neon SRT-4 and would never want that huge thing lol

"At the Track
Dodge says the SRT-4 is good for 0-60 times in the "low 6-second range" and we verified that claim. Our car hit 60 in 6.2 seconds and went on to complete the quarter-mile in 14.6 seconds at 100 mph. The last Mazdaspeed 3 we tested was 0.1 second quicker in both tests. Launches were hampered by the "bog or boil" effect, where the engine either falls on its face or the tires spin uncontrollably. This is likely a drawback of the inertial effects of heavy wheels and tires." Quoted from here: http://www.edmunds.com/dodge/caliber...road-test.html this is barely faster than the stock FR-S when mine was stock I ran the 1/4 in 14.72, and I calculated a 0-60 at 6.2 |

Yeah I dont know what Chrysler was thinking when they decided to make that car. It was such a fail, especially considering how well the Neon SRT-4 did.

The SRT-4 Caliber killed interest in the SRT brand.
Yes, it was fast in a straight line, but if you attempted to take a turn, (exaggeration incoming), the car would bow, roll, and explode. Dodge desperately needs to release a good, solid SRT-4 Dart, and needed to do it yesterday. |
