Post your subwoofer setup!

I would like to see pictures of your BRZ/FRS/86 subwoofers setups.

Just got my 2017 BRZ looking forward to add some loudness to the audio system under $600 without sacrificing the whole trunk space.

Dealership offered me their $600+ option but i didnt dig it.

Costed less than a 100 bucks. I made a guide on how I did this exact setup a long time ago. It's basically a factory sub box with the sub I got from a junkyard and an amp I had which u can get for like 20 bucks used. It's pretty loud when I want it to be.

I'm using a JL stealthbox, and an alpine 500/1. admittedly part of what you pay for with JL is the brand name, but I still like the sub. it's not cheap though

Sub: Infinity Reference 860w 8-Inch 1000w $59 when I bought it in 2015, it's more than double now at $130 though for some reason
Ported Box: Custom made by local shop $50
Amp: Soundstream PN1.450D 450W $99.00 Mounted hidden directly above box(it's very small)

Spent about $208 at the time, currently it would be about $300. It's too loud at 1/4 volume, so it's enough.

Can I just upgrade the door subs with new subs and an amp for a little more kick? I don't want to lose my fillings listening to Metallica.Recommendations?

Upgrading the headunit would make a noticeable difference. You can upgrade the door speaker but you have to pick out a good setup.

I'm running a Rockford prime 500x1 Class D amp with a 2 ohm load on a single Alpine type R dual 4 ohm voice coil. in a small sealed box and then running a 2 channel soundstream to the door speakers which is just a set of focal separates. Using the Audio control LC2I for the LOC and a sound stream bass restorer. And in 2 weeks putting in the Kenwood 6903 head unit to get some apple play in the car and the Maestro RR to retain the factory camera and steering wheel controls.

2 crunch 12" and kicker cxa1200.1. The prefab box fits with coup space. Okay bass and weight, need to get better subs though for crisper bass.

Pioneer TS-WX710A amplified Sub. Only weighs 6kg and comes into the boot 9cm. Has 2x 16cm subs, which does not sound like much but its enough to fill out the bass seeing as all the other speakers in the car were updated also including much larger ones in the wall behind the seats.

You can still flip the seat down and use the expanded boot space and its built sturdy enough for you to do so (within reason).

No pictures atm but I'm running:

JL 250/1
Image Dynamics 10" in a small sealed enclosure.

I went for a more modest SQ build this time. I've had my fair share of nearly going deaf in other cars I've owned.
