You do realize that the Mustangs that do show are likely to be the older folks who actually do track or are interested in tracking right? I've met plenty of Mustangs at tracks and almost all of them were great folks.

Don't let the Internet memes fool you.

There was a Mustang day at the GP track this past Monday, friend of mine went. Not a single incident or a black flag thrown at a driver. Everybody behaved.

How many 86 guys have signed up? Would be cool if we could have all of us in one run group - helps with traffic too!

Were there any of our twins doggin there tails on the corners, and the street cars blockin them from passing on the straights ?
I've seen a lot of that with cars that don't corner as well as ours.

Ya the guys actually tracking are not likely to lose control from simply turning a corner like some of the Cars and Coffee crowd.

Don't under estimate the Mustang. They can handle decently well enough that a good driver will beat a FRZ at TMP.

I got to drive 350R and that thing, while heavy, could easily beat a FRZ at TMP. It handles ridiculously well for its size and all it needs is an alignment and boom. Easily 1:22 at TMP.

Chris P in a 2015 GT ran 1:19.9 at TMP with R888R's and an alignment, he also ran a 1:33.5 at the GP track. That said, he ran a few seasons of CTCC so don't expect the average driver to match those times.

This is not about beating another car, track days are not races or proving which is the better car.

Absolutely, Mustangs can be good, as I remember from redlining the 1st Shelby back in 1966, but the majority I have seen on all our tracks are straight line cars that do not corner well. And when they hog the straights and block the corners as other straight line cars tend to do, they rarely get flagged for no point by to the faster car.

Hence my question.
