I side mounted my 15 lbs Braille AGM. Any battery that is able to be mounted on side can be done like this if anyone prefer that way.

This battery is still going. -5 degree (C) starts are still no drama. I really really like the built in low voltage switch-off.

So that's the same battery from 2013 going strong? That voltage cutoff seems like a much needed feature

Ouch when I saw the prices of the Voltsfreaks I think I will just come up with a cutoff valve for a Shorai battery

I replaced the following Subaru parts. Part numbers are for the new ones:

82122CA010 x 1

Rod-Battery Fix
82161AG001 x 1

Holder-Battery Fix
82182AG010 x 1
Still happy with this? Looking for that "oem+" solution, stock car, daily driven, not a super long commute so a tiny battery that needs a tender is a no-go. Love how cheap the tray and posts/bracket are combined with the battery (especially vs. the aftermarket who seems to charge nearly $100 or more), a $150 replacement for my 4.5 year old battery if the shipping doesn't screw me. Are you US based? Who did you order through?

Just went with the Shorai http://shoraipower.com/lfx36l3-bs12-p130 . This is the bigger one at 5lbs but should have more juice for DD'ing. I will also keep my small cellphone size jumper(1lb) in the glovebox in case.

I've had the Shorai LFX36 for 3 years now, Daily driven and have never used a battery tender on it. It's the best battery I've owned so far... My OEM battery puked up acid after 1.5 years... had to replace the positive lead after it corroded itself and basically got welded to the OEM battery pole.

That is very assuring news. Has any of that time been in winter conditions. I think it says to keep it above 0 degrees or run the headlights for a few minutes before cranking

I live in PR, so its summer all year long... only had the battery run flat on me once after a week of not using it due to a faulty radio causing the amp to stay powered when the car was off... after getting the radio replaced I've not had any issues.

I think Anthony has started the car in winter condition without any issues, and he runs a smaller shorai.

Yeah I'm going to keep my stock battery on a tender in case I need to pop it back in during the winter

PC925 has been in my 2005 Subaru Forester XT for 3 years now.

The car is driven once a week, and is my bad weather DD, so it won't do anything for a week, and then will be cold started and driven to work three days in a row during some bad weather/storms. No starting issues, and even drove the car back about 20 minutes on back roads when my alternator failed.

No issues starting in -15f. (low compression 2.5l)

I ordered the quoted parts through http://jp-carparts.com/ and what I received doesn't look like a direct replacement. It has the Subaru brand name on it and correct part numbers though. All in all, i think the entire order was about $30 shipped

Yes very happy. I am using a deep cycle battery and I don't need to recharge it often. Maybe once per year. I don't use the car too much. A tiny battery wouldn't make it.

Have you tried bolting it up yet?

I know the feeling "there's no way this is right!" *half an hour later* "huh, guess it works"
