Because as said several times already, Toyota vehicles transported between POE's and dealerships are uncovered. Factory to POE's and distribution yards are covered.

Lexus covers them though. I caught sight of a transporter with the Lexus logo on the tarp-like sides.

I live relatively near the Port of Jacksonville FL. I see auto transports on I95 everyday taking cars to locations in the SE US. All the Lexus cars travel in those canvas side transports with the Lexus logo all over them. However, the BMWs travel on open transporters and are only protected by some self adhesive plastic squares on the cars themselves.

Remember. the Supra is a BMW!

Edit: Annnnd just when I say that, I see a car hauler heading south from Jacksonville loaded with Lexus cars and it was not covered. The back car was a LC500 and it just had those self adhesive plastics on it too. So much for any manufacturer giving special care. At least the Lambos and Ferrari are all under cover.

That's the difference between a private distributor, Southeast Toyota that makes some of its own rules and services dealers in the, what else, the Southeast, and Toyota Logistics Services in the other ten distributorships that conform to more restrictive Toyota Motors North America policies and procedures.

It's just a mass-produced car, I see plenty of entry / mid level Porsches transported the same way.

On the other hand, last week I saw an Aventador SVJ that just landed at IAH being hauled away on an open flatbed, but at least it was covered like this:

Saw one of these at the local Auto Show.

Much nicer and better looking in person than pictures.

Starts at 65k here up in Canada though....(yikes, double the starting price of the 86)

Not sure if I'd go for it though. At that price range I think i'd be leaning towards Luxury grand tourer as opposed to sports car (so like RC), especially without any manual option available.

I'm pretty sure you can just pop out the plastic inside the vents and then they become functional. That's what I read anyways

The GT4 concept had the fake vents opened up, even the door vent. Most are still trying to figure out the function of that one though.

The passenger side bumper grille has ducting for brake cooling on the factory MKV.
