Pretty sure list is still missing Ferrari V8 swap, GTR VR38 swap, and BMW S85 V10 swap,

If you took the front Half of an RX8 AZ6 It looks like it would bolt right up to the AZ6 in the BRZ. (Input shaft might be different too?) I had an RX8 and remember reading about guys who took close ratio kits for FRS and BRZ and used them to fix the AZ6 that came in the RX8 which for the first gen RX8 cars was junk.

With the way the frame is railed in the chassis making mounts for a rotary would be incredibly simple.

So if you swapped transmission front sections and took a 13b rew bolted it up than just made front mounts which on the engine. Than throw the Haltech 150 In be a cool way to have a super light 350 HP.

The thing I think it really crazy is the rear end gear and gearing in the transmission is almost perfect for a rotary....

I think I would rather have a LS1/t56 than a turbo 13b (weight is comparable), but I bet a 13b would be a cheaper swap.

I don't know about cheaper.... Good Rotary Engine is going to cost you 3 to 5 thousand dollars. About the same as a LS. The engine Management for a Rotary is going to be a lot more expensive...

Total weight is not the only consideration. The 13b has an Extreme advantage in weight distribution and over all weight.

"Good rotary engine". Is that an oxymoron?

Really though. A used eBay ls1 is going to be more than a used Renesis motor. Plus, you will get more power from the LS1.

From the video, the LS1 would sit lower, but be taller and protrude a more, but it has more power/torque than the Renesis motor. I suppose an LS of equal power would be that much lighter, smaller, etc. negating as much difference, and if we added a turbo kit to the Renesis motor to match the LS's power (turbo, piping, front mount intercooler, BOV, wastegate, etc) then there is even less of a difference in total weight and weight distribution.

Kind of a cool weight comparison between a LS and Miata longblock. And here is a link discussing weight differences between the LS and 13B FD:

Who was talking about a renesis? You can by from mazda a brand new crate 13b Rew right now for less than $4k. Stock 13b handles 450 HP pretty easily.

Once again who's talking about a renesis? 13B REW is what came in an FD RX7. The factory Twin Turbos with manifold are a whopping 35 pounds. a simple external wastegate single turbo setup that can support 450 hp for an 13b REW weighs around 20 pounds. In the link you posted below the guys talk about the FD RX7's gaining around 200 to 400 pounds.

Taylor Ray does a great job of proving the factory miata motor is a heavy piece of junk. He doesn't Touch on the rotary, Rob Dahm's video explains the difference much better. The rx7 club guys talk about how the car is heavier and hard to make fast on a race track, kinda obvious.

That was a joke, if it wasn't clear. Wankels are cool for being different. My brother and I almost got him into a FD back in 2003. I'm a fan of the car and engine, but they have a lot of pit falls and short comings too that knock them off of my desirable-to-own list.

Uhhh, you. That is what was in the RX8. See below:

I have heard Miata and RX7 guys and 86 owners all talk about the handling being fine or sometimes better with the LS. Weight might be better, but some find the weight distribution to be better. Like Rob Damn shows, the crank position is actually lower. I think the handling effects are negligible. See comments @8:45:

Here is mine. Project finished, car is running. Mechanical part of the swap kit and dressup kit is a complete own development.
