My car is in and still 1,304 miles away!

Chris from Galles and Davis Subaru of Albuquerque, NM just called to tell me that my DGM limited manual BRZ has arrived at the dealer. I was hoping it would have come in yesterday so I could make plans to fly out this weekend but alas, it was not to be.

Now I have to wait till next weekend to make my way over there. With any luck I will be able to skip out of work next Thursday/Friday to fly over there and bring it home before the weekend officially starts.

I've already got financing and insurance setup through Navy Federal and Progressive so I hope that once I get there that after a quick test drive and walk around I'll be on my super excited way...

Well I've got my car now, flew into New Mexico last Thursday and picked it up without any trouble. The dealer was honest and did not try to push me around at all.

Now that I'm back home my left ankle decided to troll me by rolling itself and tearing a ligament... So for now the car sits in the garage until I am able to use the clutch again. The drive cross country was a joy though and while she waits she has 2,009 miles on the odo.

If you live in FL why buy the car in NM? Is that the closest one you could find?

It was the closest I could find that was available *right now* for MSRP. I actually had an order in at a FL dealership but I got tired of the wait list game so I searched out a dealer with unclaimed inventory. The airline ticket was just a hair over $100 so really I didn't spend much money to get there... my average MPG back to home was 31.8.

You know the sad part was I didn't take too many pictures along the way... after a few miles the nose was caked in bugs and I just wanted to power through and get over to where some friends were waiting for me. But here are a few pics:

You are so nice! The number of people that have been willing to "sacrifice" their time to drive the BRZ around for me has been astounding. I'm just glad I had kept my AT Civic around before running off to get the BRZ. One of my friends has commented that perhaps this ankle was a curse put upon me by my former car for kicking it out of the garage and promising to sell it.

Wow, I just checked and my car is almost exactly the same distance away (1,305 miles) - how was the car for such long distance driving?

Hope the ankle heals quickly, btw!
