Should I go to traffic school in CA?

I accidentally went by a stop sign but thankfully I can still take traffic school. I have a clean record

Should I even do it? I feel a stop sign ticket shouldn't increase my insurance right? Technically non-moving violation (jk)

After doing a quick search, I've come across one called Best Online Traffic School (frankly they all say best or cheapest LOL ).

Any experiences?

Unless you're absolutely sure you can beat it, I'd just go to traffic school. I only fight tickets if the traffic school option is unavailable (only allowed once in 18months). As I understand it, if you fight the ticket in court and lose, traffic school is no longer on the table. But you need to check that...

Seems like whether your rates will go up depends on your insurance company. 20 or so years there was Proposition 103 (?) That was supposed to give you one free pass. But it seems like that law expired.

I actually prefer to go to real classes but they are getting hard to find. Real classes are usually taught by off-duty cops and they get bored too so a lot of times the discussion digresses into things like how to avoid tickets.

Call your insurance agent and ask. When I got a speeding ticket years back (first and only ticket since I was a kid) i asked if my rates would go up if I didn't do school. She said as long as I didn't get a second one in two years nothing would change, so I didn't do it. It was a good choice.

You should absolutely go to traffic school if you can. Yes they are getting more expensive, but it's way cheaper than what the increase in premiums will cost should the insurance company decide to up your rates. I got a stop sign ticket as well, (couldn't do traffic school) and my rates went up $500 per year with AAA!! (Your mileage may vary) Factor in that the infraction will stay on your record for a number of years...it adds up.

Don't trust what an agent at the insurance company tells you. They are under no obligation to honor what their associates say over the phone.

Accidentally? Yeah we all heard that one. LOL nice try buddy.
Any online course that's in the DMV website is ok.

Shop around look at the fine print. Some would say it's only $10, but they get you with the certificate of completion for $60 at the end, and another $20 to send it to the DMV. So look out for those.

Just do the school. If you get a ticket in 6 months from now than you'll have 2 and gaurunteed your rates are going up.
