More amateur drifting!
After a surprise return to messin' with drifting mechanics during a snow outing a few weeks back, during a mall trip today with the roommate it once again reared its terrifying head.

Basically look at the back wheels lockin' out during a few turns ; it's fun.

Next time, apply a more generous amount of throttle while the tires are squealing mid-turn... That'll make things more interesting

Well I think I totally get the physics of this so it's just a matter of practicing the execution.
It makes sense to lock the wheels going into a turn, since additional forward kinetic force is useless ; therefore you transition into wanting to gain movement from matter alone while you attempt to fully change the direction of said matter (the mass of a vehicle in this case) while also attempting to regain kinetic motion in the next directional pattern. |

This reminds me of urkel busting out the Ruler and notepad to calculate where to hit the cue ball, minus the results. I highly recommend watching the drift bible, its on YouTube. Also start small with doughnuts and not going so fast in the snow unless you want to slide into a curb or lightpole.

If I was you "since it seems you don't know how to drift" try learning each gear as you go.... so you don't lose it at 40mph flip backwords and roll into something. Learn to drift in 1st. Then 2nd. Then 3rd. Then 4th.
