I agree. What is the point of having an alarm factory-installed if it isn't even on? It should be a part of Subaru PDI.

This is great, thank you for sharing this. My 2015 BRZ Sport Tech was not armed. Now it is.

Just did this on MY15 as well. Hadn't gotten that far in the manual yet. Thanks.

Was having some difficulty with this on my 2015 BRZ Limited model. Turns out even the manual doesn't mention the "lock" first step. Which on negating that step worked first try.

Page 83 in owners manual 😁

Another confirmation for the FR-S Monogram. Haven't tried out the alarm.

Worked for me, after a few attempts. Trick was to open the door as quick as possible after pressing and holding the unlock button step.

I got the alarm to turn "on" but I can't get it to go off. The key fob was about 30ft away and I was locked in it. I unlocked the car and opened the door, nothing.

Anyone get it to go off?

How were you locked in the car if the key fob was 30ft away? Did you have someone press the arm button on the key fob?

Best way to test it: Roll down window. Arm the alarm with key fob. Move the key fob away from car. Unlock door thru open window. Open door. Alarm should sound. If not retry to activate alarm again

I'm was starting to feel dumb, so called Subaru Sweden. Turns out the alarm only comes in USA. This is incredibly stupid. Why would they do that. Mine is the highest equipment level. (It's the only one available in Sweden.) Anyone from Europe who has succeeded in doing this?

Seriously, the alarm comes from the factory disabled? I'm surprised people aren't breaking into these cars left and right knowing something like that...

Over here it's probably the immobilizer. It flashes. Thieves thinks it's an alarm.

Or the tires. 😬
Yes. I do. I'm starting to wonder if they're wrong though.
Highly unlikely it'd differ.
Might be me doing something wrong.

Does anyone know which fuse is dedicated to the alarm?
Should say in a US handbook/manual.

Spent an hour trying to get it to work and nothing
I'm thinking we might need a fuse in the right place.
