Seriously, no.

My '13 has this "feature" but honestly it's been that way so long I don't notice it any more. Mine happens to be about the same on both sides so it almost looks like it was intentional (yes, I know it wasn't).

My 2013 Scion FRS has this dash issue bad. I have an extended warranty which expires next month, I hoping it is covered, going to take it to the dealer Monday.

I went to the dealer to show them my dash popping up, they said my 7 year extended warranty excludes dash. Toyota must be using the same rubber that is melting in other Toyotas and Lexus. All you FRS owners with dash melting should contact Toyota and tell them they need to address this issue with a Toyota Enhancement warranty. http://ftpcontent.worldnow.com/wbbh/...toyotadash.pdf

sounds like it is time for a group buy on a full carbon fiber dash.

Mine had this issue right above in the middle on the center air vent. 2 weeks after I bought it (bought in April 2019), the whole dash was changed and the vent thru warranty. I would push it down and it would click, but after a few hrs in the sun, it would pop back out. Drove me nuts! Now is perfect.

My suggestion is to keep the dash piece covered. My car's dash ('14) started popping up and was replaced by Toyota in under a year of use. It is ever so slightly lifted on one side of the center pieces. However, it has been very much stopped for the time being.

I did read on another thread that hot-cold differences can affect glue underneath. Living in the tropics, I tend to always keep it covered from direct sunlight as mentioned, crack a window open if possible, when I turn on car I let hot air out prior to turning A/C on, and when I do turn A/C on I don't crank it to 100% and use split distribution to floor and front vents.

Or, I could just be one lucky owner of an eternally youthful dash...

I can just see them denying it.. "The dash itself is covered. The glue breaking down, im sooooo sorry we don't cover that!"

My late 2013 is the same. I’ve tried gluing it back down, but ultimately just got a dash mat. I’d really wish I could fix it, but it isn’t as bad as some of the others that I’ve seen. Bugs the heck out of me just knowing that it’s like this. I’m in Vegas, so my dash just cooks.
