From what I have seen, having many days dynoing our 86, is that weather has a significant effect on readings even when SAE corrected. Same set up would fluctuate about 8whp depending on heat, humidity and barometric pressure. Even wider swings if we turned SAE correction off. Lesson is that direct and precise comparisons can only be made on the same day/dyno/car. Outside of that you are looking more for relative numbers, trends, etc.

William Knose and I developed the tune on Blub with all our new tweaks. The unique features of that tune, most of which are incorporated in all DT tunes now, were after his assistant departed. This involved months of road and dyno testing here as well as dyno testing at DT.

So about a year ago, I made the choice to rebuild the process, work with some highly technical engineers in airflow design, and network/server automation so that we can build a better tune (better airflow in and out of the engine) and have a faster turnaround time (hopefully finish that up this year). The tunes are an ever evolving process (as EcuTeK releases more features and tables) but with a solid base tune, we are finishing up the automation process this year. All the NA tunes we offer are brand new as of March 2019, they included extensive testing on quite a few header designs, including specific tunes for the Stock 2013-2016 header, Stock 2017+ headers, ACE 350, JDL 4-2-1, and Tomei. The major difference between the old/new tunes is in how the ECU adapts to sensor inputs, in what scenarios it adapts, how it adapts in those various scenarios and how quickly it will make changes. These adaptation help smooth out the power delivery, offer a wider / more controlled throttle input, and adjust to the environment conditions more so than before to ensure as much possible consistency. There is more in the works this year with further safety features and cool tricks we are implementing with the ECU. So be on the look out. Cheers, William Knose Delicious Tuning |
