That was how much of christmas worked. Us 3 boys would get lego sets, matchbox sets, or micro machines. All of which went into large boxes of matching items, for all to play with. We never followed the directions on lego sets, and took the matchbox cars outside to play in the dirt under the swing set for entire saturdays.

I bet it'd be extra fun for her if you secretly rebuild them creatively. Hours of fun for the both of you.

My brother and I used to have a bin each at least full of different LEGO’s all mixed up and whatnot. Was a fun time.
This year I participated in a secret Santa thing and one of the gifts I got from my secret Santa was actually some kind of dinosaur LEGO set. So I guess I’ll be getting back in the game. Should be fun. Apparently some people who are engineers like working on LEGO projects after work hours as a way to get off the computer, avoid social functions, and work with their hands on something tangible.

Lol, I thought it was just us that had the big box-o-parts. I still have mine in a box under the stairs. I had a picture of all my assembled creations that I decorated my room with (mostly sci-fi tanks, planes, etc) on one of my old phones...
PS. Merry Christmas everyone! |

Haha yeah Megan is only slightly obsessed.. The Tantive IV was the main gift. The other ones I grabbed off the discount rack at Walmart when I was getting oil for her car. I don't shop car stuff at Wally World usually but the oil is like half the price of Napa.

Well, today started off kinda lame for me, with waking up to fiancee's alarm at 0430, and her snoozing it for 40 minutes, so i said screw it, got out of bed, sat my ass on the couch and watched the Simpsons until she left for work. Got back into bed, and woke up about an hour ago with a cat wrapped around my head, also fast asleep.
Since then, have vacuumed the place, done a cursory wipe down of the kitchen counters and am now going to game for a little while, before maybe doing some more cleaning and/or listing a bunch of computer hardware for sale on reddit. |

The fiancee works 12 hour shifts, and started her days off when I finished up my work year. The next day, we went up to my parent's lakehouse for 3 days and when we got back, we were both just lazy. She started her next set of work days today, and with absolutely nothing to do, I wanted to be productive. Our stupid little cat sheds all the time, so while the place "looks" clean, there's generally always sweeping/vacuuming/wiping to do. Add on to a backlog of laundry and it's a perfect storm.
