AT - 1st gear gets stuck and hits high RPM's before shifting

Hello Everyone. Long time lurker that finally registered. I have an Automatic 2015 Scion FR-S. I searched the forum and didn't come across this topic (or maybe my search skills suck).

There are times I'm driving and the car is in 1st gear and it doesn't shift into 2nd gear until I either a) release the accelerator a second or two then hit it again or b) it stays in first then shifts after a bit of time. While it's in 1st gear, the RPM's will be higher than normal.

Just checking in to see if anyone else has/had this issue, how to fix it and if there is a TSB for it.

The autos have always been a big interesting. Mind posting up a video showing more in detail? I know driving the car in just plan out "D" is weird. If i do recall the natural shifting patterns of the car made absolutely no sense lol. I just use paddles every time i drive to save a headache.

I'll do my best to pitch my $0.02 with a video. If I had any recommendations just mess around with your accelerator placement. See if it still does it when you lock the pedal at the same spot without moving it forcing the computer to decide the shift rather than letting on harder or softer.

So you are bouncing off rev limiter or hitting fuel cut at 7400rpm in normal D and not in sport mode?

How high of an RPM are you hitting?

Sometimes my car stays in first gear until about 3500-4000 and then it shifts. This is in "D" mode, no aggressive driving. I have a 2013 FR-S and that's the only thing I experience regarding a gear getting "stuck". Never thought this was an issue?

Had issues with my car shifting for the longest time. it would up shift super slow and on down shifts it was very jerky. I just bought a new TCM from ebay and it solved the problem. I think the 13s have an issue

Seriously?
I had my TCM software updated and even had a famous post trying to help others get their stuff updated.

When you changed TCMs did it just plug and play? Normally there's a relearn procedure

Since I had a 2013 the dealer kept on telling me that there was no update for my car. From reading the forums, i was unsure if the new update would cause issues with my tcm or if it was even compatible. I decided to buy an extra one with the same last 4 digits (b010). It was plug and play and very simple to do
