Got my BRZ after going up to Syracuse from NJ with Mustang, one more BRZ available

I got my BRZ last weekend. Thanks to @serith 's post, I was able to take an offer of the CBS MT Limited available last weekend at the dealer in Syracuse, NY.

Originally, I pre-ordered the exact same trim/color at my local Subaru dealer on March. However, there have been no updates of VIN/ETA as of the last week. So, I decided to pick the one from Subaru Syracuse; Bill Rapp Subaru.

Since I live in central-NJ, I need a way to get there to pick it up, and I took a one way rent-a-car. The funny thing was that what Avis assigned to me was Mustang 2012. So, I drove up to Syracuse for 300 miles w/ Mustang and return back to NJ w/ BRZ. This was really a good opportunity to compare these two cars.

First thing I was impressed when I've switched Mustang w/ BRZ just after the 300-mile-driving was the responsiveness of acceleration of BRZ on the highway. I expected its light weight, but the driving feeling was much beyond the expectation. Sitting at the low position in Mustang for 5 hours didn't give me a big surprise of BRZ's seating position, but it is better fit to my body. The Mustang seat is more like a big comfy couch compared to like a best fit & ergonomically design seat. Steering feel was also so different that I tended to turn aggressively at every corner.

Anyway, here are some pics of those two cars. Also I'll post some good/bad experiences with both dealers in our white list for further references. The sales manager at the local dealer in NJ has been working w/ me for more than three months as keeping checking my order status. It was very unfortunately not to buy one from her. She was really nice so I would recommend this Subaru dealership to anybody in my local.

I'd just like to chime in and say thanks to @serith as well, as I did the same thing this weekend.
Different dealer, since Rapp didn't have the color I wanted, but based on that tip I called around to other dealers in the Syracuse area and found one just like I had on order (WRB Limited).
Drove the 400 miles up from VA after work on Friday, picked it up in the morning and drove it straight back, avoiding highways for the break-in ;-)

yeah, w/o his post, I may need to stand waiting in the line for another month or so.

BTW, how many times/what kinds of reactions have you received from others on the way back to VA?

For me, at least five or six times thru almost every stop/brake. Somebody even chased me after I went to a bathroom.
Also it was a surprise that an ex-professional race driver called me! This kind of experience should be only one shot in my life

Haha, yeah just about every bathroom/food stop there was someone commenting or looking it over, several people took pictures too, it was a really fun drive :-)

Congrats Yajin! I was out with friends and didn't hear my phone ring but got your voicemail a few hours after you left it. Figured you were already on the road home by then, hah. I'm glad I was able to help you find what you were looking for. That is one sexy BRZ, treat her well!
