I found even the stock tune (2012 build date) on my car gets some knock on 91 (any brand) and the IAM never gets up near 1. I run only 94 through mine now and no knock at all on the v4 tunes.

My car would do the same thing on 91 with partial throttle pulls between about 2700 and 3700 rpm on the stock tune and off the shelf OFT tune. So basically during highway driving with any sort of acceleration without downshifting or even maintaining speed up a hill. If I ran the car hard and revved it out I could get the IAM up to 1. On a flexfuel tune and e85 its not an issue.

I switched to Husky 94 recently and it fixed the vast majority of the knock issues, except for when I'm trying to maintain speed uphill.

I did finally manage to hit an IAM of 1 with Husky 94 one day without any knock occurring, but I haven't managed to replicate it again.

If it knock in lower rpm range in closed loop mode

add a little more fuel via closed loop fuel tables A&B

pull a little timing in same area at rpm/load area before knock occurs and a little in the actual load/rpm range. Try to be smooth in your changes

remember you seeing the reaction to knock that already occurred

Looking at your log the IAM was at .56 thus means your car has been knocking and pulling timing.

Yep, thats correct. It hasn't dropped below 0.7 once I switched to 94 octane, and I've regularly been seeing 0.84 as well.

I'm interested! I would love to have a 91 specific v4 tune if that's possible.

I'd also be interested in this.

I didn't realize the v4 tunes were designed for 93. There isn't a single gas station in my area with anything better than 91...

@steve99,
Did you by any chance make a 91 octane OFT stage 1 v4 tune? I don't have anything above 91 octane in my area and not totally happy with the stage 1 tune, although I think it IS better than the stock tune.
