Just out of curiosity, if I were to sell these unpainted, what do you think it'd cost you to get them painted locally?

i back this product just because i think its rad a dude bought the car, wanted to improve it, went through all the trouble to make the part when no one else would, and was kind enough to sell them to other people, and he did it all from his NY flat

also, customer service is on point

some people are saying "you could buy a whole spoiler for this price." Sure, you could, but what about those holes you have in your trunk? your new spoiler aint gonna fix those, or even utilize them. So factor in covering/filling holes or replacing your trunk into the price of buying a new wing... suddenly drambeenie risers are looking like a hell of a deal

also.... im looking to lower my car right now, i could pay $400 for RCE yellows, or $1400 for the coilovers i want. Man, 400 dollars for a twisty piece of metal is ridiculous isnt it? like springs are literally just a metal rod, coiled up by a machine.

I think you're forgetting the small bits. Like holes from factory that would need to be filled and re-painted. They instantly take away the original look, which isn't bad at all, but if you enjoy the car with its original setup then having to change spoilers gives it a fully aftermarket look.

Also, I've mentioned this to other people but when you say it's "too expensive" you're thinking of it in simplistic terms.

The price of these isn't just for the pieces themselves, but all of the R&D and time that went into them.

Most established companies that make the kind of aftermarket spoilers you're saying cost the same also are large enough to afford their own R&D departments/teams/people, so drafting up, prototyping, etc. a product like this costs much less to them because they're just re-using equipment and likely materials they already have.

A one man operation like Drambeenie's means there's going to be some extra money on top of the cost of final materials due to all the work he had to put in to get to the point where these pieces can be sold.

Saying you can buy a spoiler for the same price is really an apples to oranges comparison.

Risers added so much rear downforce that it threw off your aero balance and you understeered into the dirt.

Interesting. This is where I think the misconception is. Bodyshops are actually way more expensive than people think. Below are quotes I’ve received from different body shops to paint one pair.

$200
$160
$150
$120 (Non pearl)

How close do each of these get to a decent paint match compared to cost?

$200 had a perfect paint match and clear coat. Had them spray out each color on a metal swatch, then had my supplier mix paint to match their swatches.

I work as werehouseman in an official car dealer since 13 years... Around 50 € are the prices in Italy. Why don't you sell an unpainted version?

A half pint of PPG paint would cost me 50€.

And I wouldn't sell them unpainted because a lot of painters do shit work - and it'll reflect on me.

Well... and people would put them on their cars unpainted - which would be... awful.

I support you in your current thinking, and honestly - I don't think you should even engage in these kinds of conversations.

This is a low volume, bespoke part, for a low volume car. Your price is your price, if people don't want to pay, who cares.

Again, all I have to say to you about this project is:
