Ugh - Possible taillight condensation

So looks like I might be one of the peeps with the "leaky" tail-lights. Gave my car it's first wash this weekend and I noticed the "fogging" and slight condensation inside the tail lights as I was washing the car.

Anyone had this issue with theirs? I told my rep and she was aware of it and said bring it in soon as possible.

There should NEVER be any kind of water or fogging/condensation inside the tail light assembly correct?

I had this issue before too. Had to get it replaced but it was still getting water. I ended up just venting the lights after washing (remove a bulb housing like the turn signal) and then reattach.

You could also try making a larger foam gasket in the DIY area.

Good luck with your tails.

No idea how easy it is to remove teh tails yourself, havent done it yet, but if it really bugs you, take em out and seal them up yourself :P. When I get home Ill dig around and see what I used. Its clear, dries in like 15-20 minutes. Or you could go to the dealer, not sure it will actually solve teh problem though.

Post above is also an easy way to air them out :P

I got mine replaced at servco last week. Only my passenger side was leaking. Was pretty bad. There'd be like a half inch puddle at the bottom when it rained or washed my car. The service guy was super cool and replaced both sides. Dropped the car off at 630 before work and was done by lunchtime.

I just got mine replaced too.
I had the car parked outside over this past weekend when it was raining pretty hard. No condensation.
I washed the car yesterday. No condensation.
When I read the copy of the work order, it sounds like they replaced both when I had condensation only on the passenger side. It says they flattened out the body before installing the new tail lights. Matt might want to get it replaced again. Maybe they did not know about this (flatten out the body) at the time you got yours replaced.

Just go down. I called first and they were going to give me an appointment like a month away. So I just went down to servco and talked to them and then they scheduled me in for the next week. They Could've actually done it that day but I didn't have a ride or anything.

What's it mean by flatten out body? I just looked at mine and it said that too. They talking about the sealant they use?

How I understand it is that there is a part on the body where it is sticking out. When the tail light is installed, that sticked out spot breaks the tail light, which causes the condensation. So, I'm guessing they flatten out this spot before installing the new tail lights. This is just my guess.

Help!!!

My passenger side tail light is having condensation issues and I can't stand it! These are the Crystal Eye lights I just got last week so I'm bummed. My stock tails never had moisture problems so I'm inclined to believe it's the tail light itself. The driver's side is fine.

Drilling is not an option. I've taken the tail light off, removed the bulbs from their sockets, and aired it out. Also used a blow dryer and tried using a vacuum but the excess water is staying put. Any tips would be appreciated. I'll even drive out to meet someone at their place if they could help me out
