My Drift / Autox / General Build Thread

Hey guys, owned the car since May 2016 and of course didnt hesitate to begin my build with her. Prior to owning the 2013 FRS I used to have an E46 BMW I drifted over at Etown Raceway. Since then Ive sold it, moved down to Tampa and now im a proud gt86 owner

Figured I'd make a thread for you guys to enjoy and follow my journey with her. Along with the car I picked up a Sony A6300 camera that i will be photographing and filming pretty much every step of the way. (bear with me im still somewhat of a photographer noob lol)

How the car currently sits:

You can check out my first blog video on my new youtube channel

And now for some pictures for you guys. I also attached a few pics of the bmw i built. If anyone wants more info on that build feel free to ask me anything.

Enjoy !

Some more stuff came today

Front and Rear Ferodo DS2500 Brake Pads

Whiteline Positive shift kit

And since i live in an apartment and washing a car is no easy task I decided to go with Chemical Guys Waterless car wash kit. I still also have some pretty high end detailing products otherwise, but always a struggle to wash the car since moving down into my apartment over here.

Ark Design Extended Aluminum lug nuts. Must say the packaging and overall quality of these are absolutely amazing and are super light weight. Really clean close ended extended lugs. Also offered in SS

Installed the Forodo Racing Brake Pads and CF RB v3 spoiler.

The Forodo Racing DS2500 pads, all i can say is WOW, huge upgrade. The car had Akebonos and just night and day difference. The braking now just is such a strong and linear brake curve and i couldnt be happier! Definitely going to be switching out the fluids and upgrading to slotted rotors soon as well.

Some Updates (been super busy) But i installed the OFT with stg 1 tune, and amazing results. Fixed the idle issue I was having along with gave it a nice little boost in performance all around. I notice i definitely need to adjust the tune for my MAF (still reading and learning how to do so). Also wrapped my intake with the heat resistant tape and noticed a very slight drop in IAT

Also FINALLY got my CF Front Canards from Password JDM (was a huge headache and extremely disappointed in their customer service) After being sent the wrong canards, it was nothing but a hassle to get the right ones sent back out. I love the canards, but a huge thumbs down for their CS.

And yesterday got my Beatrush Front Rebar. Was going to install today but then it decides to start pouring on me before i could even get the bumper off. It may still get done but weather pending. Overall the build quality of this piece is amazing and is super light weight, I forgot the actual weight differences.

And got the Megan Racing Rear Subframe brace for 30shipped new. Idk if i really feel a difference, but for the price i got it for I figured it definitely wont hurt, especially when it comes time for me to take her out on the track.
I do plan to do more bracing & Bushings all around which i feel should tighten things up nicely.

Did some work today. Installed my Beatrush front rebar, removed the front bumper grill and also installed the password jdm bumper quick releases finally (since the prior owner really did a hack job on the front bumper clips unfortunately.

There definitely were some nice weight savings on the front rebar and will work great when its ready to install an oil cooler and FMIC

The password jdm quick releases worked great, fixed my bumper gap due to broken clips. Really simple install and imo doesnt look half bad!

Also just got my Federal 595 RR's in and will be installing my new wheels when I get back from vaca next week!

Ended up ordering an Invidia catless front pipe and installed it today. I'm really liking the exhaust note paired up with my DC Sports Exhaust. Here is a little video:

[ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uMQNfARhNGo"]Gt86 DC Sport Exhaust with Invidia Catless Front Pipe - YouTube[/ame]

I also changed the oil and installed the Whiteline Transmission bushing insert. Couldnt be more happy with it! It really tightened up the sloppiness/play from the factory bushing.

Finally got around to having my new wheels and tires mounted up. I absolutely love how they flow with my car thus far. Ill give some updates on the Federal 595 RR's as i actually get around to pushing the car and put them to the test.

Also just placed an order and am waiting for my 350mm Suede Keys Racing (Deep Style) Steering Wheel along with a few other things suspension wise.

Little update, got my Mishimoto catch can installed, shortly after, filled out a sponsorship application with Mishimoto and got approved and went ahead and have their Thermostatic Oil Cooler arriving early next week!

Some pics of the oil catch can installed. Due to the diag braces it didnt allow me to utilize both screw points in the bracket, hence it being slightly tilted, but otherwise all good with the can!

And a little update regarding the Federal 595RS-RR tires.... They are LOUD, but wow do they grip well. For the cost and how well they perform I definitely recommend them. I cant wait too actually take them to the track and really push them to their limits!

So got my Mishimoto Thermostatic oil cooler in the other day. Will be installing it on Tuesday! Everything looks absolutely amazing, and just the general craftsmanship of all the pieces are very well done. Again I did opt for the thermostatic version for the slight extra cost.

I also got a solid deal from a fellow gt86 owner on the NRG Hub and Gen 3 quick release, again just waiting on my new wheel from Japan. But here of some pics of the pieces!

Few little updates:

Finally installed my Keys Racing Steering Wheel along with Titanium Steering wheel bolts. Definitely very happy with how it feels!

Also picked up the HIC CF Roof Visor on there black friday sale. I really dig the look of it, but i am concerned with it effecting the aero of the vehicle, which i didnt think about until after buying it and installing it.

Also decided to grab the HKS oil filter with an amazon gc i had:

And lastly just a little pic of my little friend hanging out the the front bumper, thought it was a nice shot lol
