Good winter tires help so much with this cars.

I haven't gotten stuck, knock on wood, but I have dipped my front end into water and it was rather interesting...

I got stuck on my driveway this morning. Then again, once I got out of my driveway and onto my street, which wasn't cleared of the slush yet.

April 3rd 2016 was worse than this past weekend. Sideways from Toronto to Brampton, then sideways from Brampton to Cambridge, where I got stuck in an intersection at 2:30am and was kindly towed into the nearest parking lot by a solid dude in an F-150, who then drove me the last 5km home.
I drove home from the airport on Saturday night of this past weekend and it was a cakewalk.
Both times though, I'd clearly taken my snows off a week or two too early.

Sunday afternoon I jumped in my car with it's good winter tires and backed it up about 6 inches. As soon as those good winter tires hit the ice on my driveway I started to slide down the massive 5 degree slope. There was nothing I could do to stop it and it slide into the middle of the road. I had to put down half a bag of salt just to get back in the driveway.
The moral of the story is that sometimes even good winter tires are not enough and the car should stay parked.

As far as you guys driving around on summer tires in that crap:

My gf took her winters off last Tuesday against my advice, then spent yesterday morning at my house because she couldn't leave my driveway because my street wasn't plowed! (She drives a GTI)

Did you set up a warm cozy fire and two glasses of wine? Oh and the animal fur rug.

Was the first time I ever had it happen in about 20 years so odds are in your favour.

Ya. I was being sent out into an ice storm for hot dog buns. We used bread instead. I am still hearing about it.

Now if it had been important stuff...

Just turn the car into a sled just attach dogs on it to stroll you away.
