As for driving a boosted twin, it will blow your mind. But keep in mind when boosting an NA motor you'll either need to learn quite a bit about your car, modifications and maintenance or have a shop that can cater to your needs on demand.
Right what I plan on doing if I would go with a boosted twin is go with fbm stage 1 stay with stock 7psi tune and save for a fbm built block for higher psi. And would u happen to know a good link for turbo maintenance?

Honestly from experience; install it yourself and you'll learn most of what you need about maintaining your car. Otherwise, your local tuner shop who installs should be able to coach you on what to watch out for and maintenance.

have you ever owned a STi or WRX? STi will out performed a WRX any day no matter what the year of the WRX. you can never build a WRX to become an STi. the STi is a great value for all the components it comes with. It would cost more to swap all the STi parts to a wrx then buying a STi. that 10 year old EJ257 is a beast of a motor. it is a proven motor with lots of torque. why is it out dated? because it's 10 years. whats so special about a fa20? its still a boxer only with DI. so.....

Alright buddy I'm no Subaru expert. You know more than me. And yes, I've owned both.

I'm trying to coach someone here based on my opinion and experience. He can choose to listen or disregard on his own.

Me personally, I'll choose FA20 over EJ any day.

Edit: Found some good posts where you can go share you EJ passion:

Burnin your warranty worries me but thats why I emphasized having car building knowledge. Soon or later something is going wrong and I hate freaking out. I dont care much for awd even if its faster off the line. RWD just gives you something to goof around with. Back seats would be nice but I enjoy lightweight cars.

Here is the thig, the 86 has unbelievable driver feedback. Its incrediably confidence inspiring I am in complete control. You lose that with a larger car with a more lax center of gravity. When i sit into my 86 i feel like I am strapping into a nimble fighter jet like the F16. When i sit behind my buddies wrx i feel like I am holding on to a bucking bronco. Different sensations for different people but I urge you to imagine this. What if that nimble fighter jet you strapped into could actually put you back in your seat or Pull away on a highway? Wouldnt that be a better car?

Former BRZ owner and current '15 WRX owner. The BRZ is more fun to drive, the WRX is more livable.

Both are mediocre at best. You should watch ft86speedfactorys review between the frs/WRX I suggest.

Go sit in a wrx, feels like a 4wd after being in a 86.

That's all you need to know.

The new rex's are really nice cars, but the reasons i won't get one are the same as the ones i didn't a few years ago. 4wd, Don't look particularly nice, are much heavier and the steering has nothing on the 86. Same goes for the evo.

You can make a 86 go faster, but its very hard to make a wrx "feel" as nice to drive as an 86

I honesty think a stock frs audio sounds pretty Damn good.... do they compare them or is it like single review on each car?
