OK. I ask because when heading into step two and checking wiring we have seen numerous cases where a ground wire was off.

I've checked the ground already. I'm not skilled with cars at all, I'm a computer nerd, but did work for Toyota for a little bit, so I have basic knowledge on things

Fail on everyone saying it's the battery. OP could have just hooked up jumper cables from a running car with help from a friend/family/neighbour and easily concluded if it's the battery or not.

Is your fuel tank full?

Do you have engine oil in?

Is your car an automatic or a manual?

If automatic, make sure the shifter is in P or N or else it won't start.

If manual, make sure clutch pedal is all the way down. It is possible the clutch position sensor is out of alignment or failed.

Have any recent repairs or mods been made to the car?

I tried jumping it with my other car, but since everyone suggested battery, and my other battery was low I figured, why not.

Is your fuel tank full? Yes

Do you have engine oil in? Yes

Is your car an automatic or a manual? Manual

I'll check on this.

Have any recent repairs or mods been made to the car? No

Not everyone!

Not a fuel issue it doesn't crank.
Not an oil issue or it would have a dramatic end the last time it ran.
I would hope he knows to check an auto.
Clutch was a good mention that none of thought to mention.
Already asked if anything was changed 3 posts up.

I put a new battery in my car yesterday. The dealership wanted $180 for the stock one. I got a better one for $160.
The hell? What's the usual CAD price for a battery at a dealer? Dealership in PA wanted $135 for my FR-S before I just ordered an optima red top which was a long term splurge. At your price your dealer price you're only like $10-20 U.S. off a diehard or delco AGM

Do you have a voltmeter?

If so, what does your new battery read?

If its srock amd you have not messed with anththing amd battery is ok

Check car security is de activating ie the red flashing lock symbol disapears or key symbol goes green.

Try your spae key or prox key if push start hold key to start button.

If you manual check clutch safety switch
If auto check park switch

Much beyond that your going to need specilist tools and idagnostics like techstream or at least and obd code reader

It is within the normal price range for things here. Remember it is also a
$30K car, a can of Coke is $2 and breakfast at Dennys will run you $18. It only looks bad to people used to US prices. In the long run it is about the same value as there.

Oh hey, so I've neglected this for a few days.

At 11.8 the battery was either toast or needed a full charge, not a boost. Either way something needed to be done about that. It could have been "eliminated" as a possibility with a boost, but once the car ran, it would have been the next step (relying on the alternator, you'd need to drive all day to recharge a battery that far discharged)

Now, since it doesn't crank, use a jumper cable to hook the crankcase to the battery negative, if it cranks you've got a busted ground wire between the engine and battery. If it doesn't crank, go down to the nearest auto parts store and grab a cheap 12v test light (if you dont' have one). Put the clamp on the engine block and use the pointy bit to poke the bolt with the big wire on the starter. Is there light? Yes = next step, no = issue between battery and starter. Now use the pointy bit to poke the terminal of the small wire while a helping hand sits in the car and cranks it. does the light turn on? Yes = bad starter, no = electrical issue between the key and starter.
