Anyone who thinks Miata has an image problem or is a hairdresser's car has no right calling themselves an enthusiast. On any given weekend, there are more Miatas at racetracks than any other vehicle, by a wide margin.
They are superbly engineered no-compromise sports cars (and not parts bin specials like the BRZ/FR-S) The previous generation cars didnt look that great but the current generation looks stunning, especially in that deep red color. And the cherry on top? The 2019s are significantly faster than the BRZ/FR-S. If I fit, Id have one instead of a BRZ. Hell I still may buy a 2019 when the prices come down in a few years. |

An 'image' problem has nothing do with the realities of the car, it is just the perception of the car. This is why I say it is a GREAT car, just not the best image. You can make an argument that someone who wouldn't drive one because of the image isn't an enthusiast, but you can't say acknowledging that image exists makes a person not an enthusiast. Really though, I would say it just makes a person not a purist or not fanatical. I have raced cars for 20 years and I'm pretty sure that wouldn't have happened if I wasn't enthusiastic about it, but there are some things beyond driving enthusiasm that impact my automotive purchase decisions including image - i'm human. |

I'm not saying the Miata isn't a good car in its own right (I wouldn't own one, but there are a lot of good cars I wouldn't own), but they certainly aren't "no compromise" cars.

limited slip differential, which comes stock on the twins but is not stock on the MX5, you have to get the next trim up, the sport or club pack or whatever, I don't think it is worth it to get a MX5 unless it has the LSD (diff) or you plan on putting one in. One would think it comes standard on a car like that but no it in fact does not. |

-In the MX5 stock form you do not get an LSD, compromise performance for price -Cup holders in the way of shifting... compromise The MX5 is not a no compromise hardcore sports car, it is a cheap entry level sports car in the exact same tier as the twins. Just because the MX5 has no practicality does not equal no compromise. Both cars have compromises and both cars are not designed to be track monster sports cars. They both are not even that fast, they are both fun to drive entry level sports cars and that is what they are designed for. |

You would have been fun in the car platform discussion that went on a while ago if you have a problem with the "parts bin special issue" with the twins. |

OK,,, spent 1 minute and found this. Come to the dark side,,, you wont regret it.
Seriously,,, if the mileage is correct this is a good deal. The FRC (fixed roof coupe) was the precursor to the Z06. Also,, there wont be any hairdresser comments I assure you. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...6-500-obo.html
