Our little twin with its 2.0 liter engine beats the 240Z in every respect except curb weight, (thank the air bags for that) with the 280Z even that advantage has disappeared. Of course, most of that is computer management and electronic ignition, but still -- a stock twin would stomp any stock 240Z, 260Z, 280Z both in a straight line and very definitely around a curve.

Still, for sexy looks the 240Z was hard to beat:




Not so the 280Z, with its wonderful railroad tie bumpers:

Finally got around to making a video of my exhaust. FT86 speed factory catted UEL and Invidia's q300. Just cold start, 3000 rpm hold, and some 7k revs. My phone makes it sound a bit "fartier" than it does in person

Excuse my shaky ass phone camera, I'm not recording it again.

Since these are pre 1972 cars are those measurements in the old or new measurement standards? If old then we can take about 20% or so off since all the numbers were inflated by the test protocols used then. I would guess they are to the new standard since they are relatively "high" but am not 100% sure.
