I think what we are seeing is dual brake master cylinders (front and rear), pretty typical for racing. They are probably situated under the pedal box, being actuated by the split pedal, drawing from two of the three reservoirs seen attached to the firewall

Eagerly awaiting NYIAS now. A certain (presumably) in the know poster on the supra forum has been hinting at a manual transmission for a hypothetical lower trim supra, which would likely include BMW's 2.0T (as hinted at by those documents that leaked a while back). Currently in its most pumped up version, BMW's 2.0T is putting out 255HP and 295 lb*ft. Put that in a chassis coming in at ~3000 lbs and that can be plenty of fun. Add to that a reasonable price range (mid 30s?) and I may have to hold off on purchasing that PP BRZ.

24 days and counting...

The turbo Camaro weighs only 3,330lbs and makes 275hp/295lb*ft.

Oh and it starts out at 25k new.

But a Camaro isn't a Supra

Not that I plan on buying a Camaro, but this car is looking less and less attractive as time goes by. I will save my opinions until the production car is released though.

You're right. But apparently a BMW is a Supra.

Anyway post #20 is where he starts hinting at the manual option. If nothing else it certainly seems like a plausible and a potentially smart choice by Toyota to address people who have begged for boost from the twins.

No doubt the Camaro and it's alpha platform make a great car, and I have been considering a 1SS. But the weight, looks, interior dimensions and outward visibility leave me wanting for a performance car. Not to mention I would think it's easier to add power (especially to an already boosted engine) than shave 300 pounds off a daily driver.

By maybe 100-150lbs depending on trim. You can spend a lot of money to shed that much weight via aftermarket. I'm already disappointed it's quoted just over 3,100 lbs, but beggars can't be choosers. I could prob get that down to 2,900lbs I'd imagine.

Seating for 4? Don't think that's something worth discussing on an 86 forum or any sports car forum, lol

Also...nobody seems to be talking the dimensional differences. This and the 86 are far smaller than that land whale of a Camaro. No offense to any Dodge Challengers out there.

I'm guessing BMW/Toyota spent a pretty penny getting the weight down as it is. I'm willing to be that it would be much cheaper to reduce weight on the 3,330 pound Camaro. To get the Supra to 2,900lbs you would probably need to start ripping out the interior on your brand new car. No official specs yet so hard to say.

One of the main reasons I bought my 86 was because of the rear seats. If I only needed 2 seats I probably would have just bought a Cayman. This will be the only Supra ever that only has 2 seats IIRC.

Sure the Camaro is bigger, but it is also going to cost at least 10k less while making more power with a relatively low curb weight (compared to this rumored 4 cylinder Supra).

I'm just trying to play Devil's advocate. Obviously it's a lot of speculation since we don't know much about the production car yet.

FYI the "turbo" Camaro sux ballz and if you get a the SS the weight jumps to over 3650lbs and you are looking at $37k plus.

The 6 turbo Supra, if it has a BMW sourced motor, will be the B58 since BMW has gone modular on their engines.
This engine makes 335hp/369tq and a simple tune upping the boost can put it over 400hp/400tq.

If its priced 40-50k it will be a clear winner for Toyota.

I personally feel like if a turbo 4 option even exists it will be to fill the gap between the 86 and the 6 turbo Supra.
In that regard I'd wager the price to be 38-42k.

The thing that worries me is, BMW engines are trash in the reliability department.
