There's not much gain to be seen if you stay NA and go with the 3". If you want more "noise" consider going with the unresonated version.

Yeah I plan on staying NA. I was going for more intake growl rather than gains, I already have a Perrin resonated 2.5" catback.

The 3" intake will sound the same as the normal size PERRIN intake. I'd go for the 3" if you already have a way to get a tune, and are looking to make the most power.

@PERRIN_Chris

I'm almost done with the install however I'm having issues with the air diverted and tube (3" version) not fitting. It's really tight and if I follow the instructions, I'm sure after a while, the plastic air diverter is going to somehow Crack. Any ideas?

I feel like the air diverter needs to be trimmed to allow the intake in.

EDIT: Ended up just cutting two 1" slits on the air diverter where the intake would sit so it'd smush down a bit further. Fits perfectly now. Flashed an updated tune with Perrin's MAF scale and took a stroll, wow, this thing is loud at 4k open throttle and very modest while just cruising. Liking what I'm seeing so far!

Just to be sure, did you use the included 2 metal spacers to push back the plastic diverter? They should push it back so you won't have any issues fitting the filter.

Good to hear that you got it on!

I did but that didnt lower the top of the diverter enough . seems like an isolated incident since no one else has reported any complications haha. The instructions provided were quite easy otherwise.

That's interesting, if you could send me some pictures sometime, I'd like to see it. I installed the big MAF intake on my car and I didn't have to do anything to the diverter. Thanks!

If I'm taking it literally here, the problem is with the pass through area where the intake tube fits under the radiator shield. I have the two metal spacers installed on the bottom of the diverter and the filter itself fits fine. I should've taken pictures but it got dark and I was tired.

I pretty much made slits at the yellow lines below (picture taken from OP's post) so it'll be flap like and bend down a bit.

@PERRIN_Chris and anyone else who has installed...is there suppose to be some contact between the filter and the diverter? I find the foam is pressed against the diverter even with the spacers...particularly near the middle-passenger side, right where the counter sunk part switches to the protruding part. Is this normal?

Photo below of contact area, stolen from @tracerit

Also, how are we suppose to do the washers / bolt to attach the intake tube to the support? Right now I have it as bolt > large washer > bracket > small washer > support --> is this correct?

yeah, i think mine is touching as well. That's how I did the washer/bolt order as well, no issues so far.

Are you using the bigMAF or the regular CAI? How was your fitment with the tube through the radiator support and air diverter?

@tracerit fit fine with mine but I'm on the 2.75 inch. I'm just curious if I can squeeze out more clearance between diverter and filter... How much foam compression are you getting at the diverter? Maybe half a cm or so?

i honestly can't answer that but i would not be surprised if it's touching somewhat. at this point i'm too lazy to open up the bumper again haha.

@tracerit Yeah... I'm debating if I want to crack it open to check if I can move it... Theoretically answer should be no since it's a fixed bolt position but I messaged Jeff at Perrin and he mentioned there should be some wiggle.. I dunno

i switched back to my Perrin inlet hose from the stock inlet/resonators and the cai tubing did wiggle but i wasn't concerned much sinc eit's just locked down at one point, but after hooking the inlet hose and tube back up, it's secure.
