Its a matter of time.
Probably cost, and NA guys dont want 3" for the money or performance increase.
So 2.5" has a larger sales market, NA and FI.
Also to keep this thread somewhat on topic.
3" exhasut thread http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=20239

Cusco has one out...
...a whopping 2mm oversized.
By the way when I do exhaust, 3" it will be.

I'm waiting on the first vendor to release a larger throttle body so we can push more air through these little beasts.
3" have issues with clearnce in the overpipe / front pipe area
It works but is a tight fit or you will end up hitting the frame

Considering you can do over 700bp through a 2.5" TB I think that's a bit unnecessary.

3" fits through the subframe but not with a ton of space. Chances are you may have some rattles with stock motor mounts. But you really shouldn't have stock mounts if your to the point of needing a 3" exhaust system.

The Unicorn is a head turner. I got a bunch of rubber necks and dirty looks on the way home last night!

That's what the entire 300zx community thought of before it was done. The gains were insane when the entire intake/exhaust tract were upgraded to 3''.

If you're upgrading the entire intake system, you'll see gains. But upgrading the throttle body alone is a worthless expenditure.
