The product was updated in the description. It comes with a Sylvania Silverstar bulb to reduce the chances of the VSC light coming on.

I just finally installed this thing after sitting on it for 4 months!

It was a piece of cake and it works perfectly. Was I supposed to cut out some notches or anything? I ended up just drilling to 1-1/16ths or so (progressively with a unibit) and kept fitting the socket in until it made it all the way in with a snug fit. It seems to be on there pretty good but it's not like it's locked in with a notch or clip or anything. In any event, I have one of the zip ties right on the wire by the socket affixed to the existing reverse light wires which run right by there, so there's no way this thing is going anywhere.

You could definitely wire a switch in there. You would just have to extend a coupe of wires up front or one wire back depending on where you want to get power from. If you are running stock 86 fogs, you could get it to come on when you use those. Unlimited amount of wiring possibilities.
