Assuming good thermocouple placement /egt readings you don't think it's possible to eliminate false knock? I'm not saying it would be an overnight thing. It would take a lot of data to determine. Might be beyond the limits of what ecutek can do right now.

I think due to variations in manifolds, turbo's, and sensor placement it would be real hard to compare notes on EGT readings. I have ordered one for my car and will start compiling data when the car is running. Barring any outliers I wont really know what to make of the data for a while.

Basically compare knock against known egt range for the specific car, before writing knock correction, but as I said I dont think ecutek could do this right now.

I doubt you would be watching any gauges close enough in a 1/4 mile run to stop before any damage is done.

Awesome I want to know what you find. Will you be testing UEL, EL and maybe twin scroll?

EL with different turbine housing, and then twin scroll. I have no interest in UEL, don't like to complicate design for a noise.

If that's what you're planning on doing, you should put pressure transducers in the exhaust manifold to see what the pre-turbo backpressure is. That will be more useful to look at than temperature, because you'll probably run it rich enough to keep the turbo from overheating anyway.

Just for interest the ecu calculates a parameter called Catalyst Temp (temp at primary cat in header). I believe it does this via the 02 sensor by using the o2 sensor current\voltage values through the o2 heater hence calculate it resistance which is then plotted against temperature. You can monitot this using Techstream , Tactrix if you have the correct ram address , or other logging system. Its probably not super accurate but will give some idea of temps (ie increase or decrease due to your changes or over stock car) and you dont need to fit or buy an aftermarket sensor.
