I know one tuner in particular, left me running hot after the conversations i had with him.

From my experience, i think the smartest path is built. You can get away without building, but why chance it ?

Motor is doing great! at 6k miles, 5k have been boosted.
Tuned by Mayhem Tuning
So you're saying, you are running 400whp @ 11.5psi on CA91 Octane gas? And at 4500ft of elevation no less...

Sorry I don't buy that, if it was E85 I'd have an easier time believing that.

I worry for your motor if that's even remotely true

Old as in 2013 old. I used to be happy to pioneer the platform til engines started going. I returned to my roots (MAZDA), and only recently got back into an FR-S again, after i was forced out of my FD.

John was on a streak then. He blew a hole in my block in September of 2013. The only decent thing to come out of it is he paid for the used engine that went in.

That's pretty stand up to replace your engine. Did he perform a remote street tune or did he tune you remotely from dyno runs?

Agreed. Your double checking your tuners work by reviewing the datalogs correct? Ive running the same kit with similar mods (though with a gt71r) on 93octane @910ft of elevation and anything past 339whp I'm getting knock in the upper 6k+range in my 3rd gear pulls.

Any idea what %DI/PI you're running in the upper load/RPM range?

Yeah he and I weren't seeing eye to eye on anything when that went down. Needless to say, i didn't get a free engine out of it.

While that does seem like something a stand up person would do, he had to be pressured into it by the shop owner. He was dyno tuning my car after the supercharger install when he blew the hole in it. The car was running fine and put down healthy numbers NA earlier that day.

He showed me logs while there to plead his case, and I asked for the logs to be emailed to me - that never happened. One of my friends told me he was using my dyno graph to sell tunes shortly thereafter. So yeah, stand up dude.

No way you are making those numbers on that turbo with that fuel and at that boost level. I think your 3s should be 2s.
