Thanks, that makes sense now. I guess I am not too surprised they got rid of GBS, my dealer told me WRB's were selling as fast as they could get them in and GBS was not as popular.

Makes sense to me. Likely they aren't selling many automatic premiums, and want to push all the would-be automatic buyers into the more expensive cars to offset the cost of the added accessories on the new cars.

Yeah, I really liked the GBS, I have the WRB, but I really debated between GBS, and WRB. I think it is cool for those of you that have it that it will be a very limited car.

Also makes sense about the premiums based on your explanation. My dealer told me like 80% of the cars they got in were manuals, so the majority of buyers already want the manual anyway.

Not many 2013s left in interesting colors or options (or at all), at least at the dealers in my area. If you're thinking of picking up a 2013, I would act fast. 2014 ordering is already starting and (someone correct me if I'm wrong), but I don't think dealers are going to be receiving anymore 2013 shipments.

At least the dealerships I visited here in Austin and Houston aren't. In fact my friend at one of them told me they are receiving this week the last 7 '13 BRZs.

The Scion dealer I contacted today told me the same, that they have 3 in stock and will be receiving the final 5 in a week.

Subaru dealership is already taking pre-orders for '14s, while the Scion dealership told me they are not yet, but they will very soon.

How so? It is no more trouble to paint a part GBS than it is to paint any other color? Hell this is actually better (from a painter's view) as it mean there will only be 1 mix for the color with hardly if any variances due to small production... meaning much easier to match. The paint won't cost more just because the color is discontinued.

Kinda sad to see GBS go. Even more sad that I haven't seen Plasma Blue Pearl confirmed as the replacement. One can hope though!
