FT-86 concept's steering wheel
As far as I know, FT-86's steering wheel have been named MT's top 10 coolest steering wheels by Motortrend.
http://www.motortrend.com/features/c...els/index.html The question is, should Toyota consider using that steering wheel in production car? |

Kind of impressive to be in a list with all those high end exotics... except the civic and gti...
I hate to say it but the LF-A has the ugliest wheel out of them. And the one 77 interior is pure sex. |

I am mighty surprised they didn't put GTR steering wheel in there.
However, my favorite would have to be Evo 9's Momo. Its Round, not SMALL, and looks durable with no buttons on the steering wheel. |

Hm... I'm not too fan of it. I don't like the bottom two holes, I prefer more simple design.

only few oem steering wheel I like but this one is not one of them, just like ichitaka05 says I'm not feeling the 2 holes but the carbon part is cool looking.
but Im thinking I'll go with a OMP WRC steering wheel or sparco carbon 385 |

I think it looks good from a concept perspective and surprised to see it even in MT's top 10 given it's not even in production yet.
Honestly, I like the small details: red stitching, squared off bottom with vents @ the 6, the raised padding @ the 12, the brushed aluminum/titanium @ 3 and 9 with the indented center. I'm sure if it was plain like that OMP or Momo steering wheel you guys would probably saying the direct opposite. "ahhh its too plain... it looks cheap...blah blah"

So I voted yes, and I did so for one very simple reason. It's not that I'm particularly in love with the design or materials, because I'm not really. I like the squared off bottom and what looks to be a nice little groove at 10 and 2, but over all I'm mostly underwhelmed. What really turns me on is the utter lack of buttons, knobs, toggles or any other silly nonsense which has no business being on a steering wheel of a car with even the slightest sporting pretensions. Keep it that way.

Go with the Sparco!!! Quote:
Totally agree with you on every point you brought up. I personally like the concept wheel also... Well, minus the bottom vents, though, not too crazy about those... But EVEN SO, I know I'd be very happy with that wheel if it came with the car exactly like that. Anyway, given that MT is judging all these wheels on how "cool" they are, it seems their motives are purely for aesthetics, NOT performance. And since they think that the LFA has a sweet steering wheel, I feel that their opinions are no longer valid. That wheel (ie LFA wheel) is from the 80's..... Just plain ridiculous. Too ridiculous for TRON, even. |

I like it, aside form the carbon bit and the thinness.
To you guys that are going to be running the aftermarket wheels, do you plan on putting in harness bars and multipoint harnesses? DDing? |
