Me to, but I've seen plenty with it off as well. Honestly what I'm thinking is that everything fits, but when the engine is under heavy load it might be making contact. I have nothing to go on for that so please don't ask for proof. It's just that at least half of the pics have the bar off and I can't think of any other reason for this.

You know how our stock ECU is sensitive to intake changes?... Well, when you go FI it is even more sensitive.

Question for those who have experience; I am really interested in this stage 1 sc as it seems it will be safe and easier to maintain than other FI, and also reasonably priced. My main concern is engine saftey. I don't want a lot more power, just a little more.
So to add an intercooler to the stage 1 would be about $1300. 1. I don't live in a super hot or freezing area, 2. I would only plan to take this to a track once in a while (most, once a month) 3. I'm only looking for a little more power, 4. Miles would be be less than 10k year Am I still risking it if I don't have an intercooler.?? Thank you... |

A twin screw has a naturally cooler air charge than a roots blower, so I'm not sure I'd ever need the cooling... and for a street car with light track time, you're probably good. It's great you can add it if you need it. I do think I'll add an oil cooler since this motor does not have one. |

Really? An N/A motor that already runs hot, and you don't think track use should use an IC? That's nuts. You must be a very gentle driver.

As stated above, twin screws create less heat. That combined with lower PSI, makes it a non-issue in my mind. Frequent track users may still want to opt for the intercooler though.

The cost differential between intercooled and non is pretty small. If you're going to do it, you might as well do it right IMO.

Not to be rude, but a K20 is a high compression 4 cylinder. I never had any issues with knock. Most people actually experience knock on their tune during winter due to dense air charge, not heat. Warmer air just makes you slower. Just trying to bring first hand experience to the discussion.

Its more likely that Innovate is going to properly tune it for the measly 5 psi and there isn't gonna be any knock issues come up. |

This engine is higher compression, no?
In any case I did say assume, so I don't see why we must point out that I MUST be assuming. |
