Someone hit my car. Help!!

I woke up to my front bumper having a gnarly dent and upon further inspection I found my crash bar was also damaged and it appears, though I may be wrong, that my frame is ever so slightly bent downwards. I say this because my hood doesn't sit flush anymore. I have a small gap on either side not to mention the front which is were most of the damaged is visible. I'm pretty mad but I'm trying to stay level headed and just want to fix the damages and get on with it.

From the looks of it, it isn't bad. I'll buy an aftermarket front bumper (I wanted one anyways) and a Driftarmor crash bar (also was lookin into buying one, only thing holding me back was not being to sure how I was going to hook up my front splitter to it but nonetheless I'll have to figure it out now)

What I keep stressing about is the frame. If it is bent then it's ever so slightly bent. Anybody know of a place that specializes in fixing bent frames? Also anyone have an estimate on how much this will run me? If someone knows of a good place near 92084 please let me know.

Nothing else was damaged, I checked my fluids, inspected just about everything I could think of for cracks and such. I'll be taking it to a mechanic this weekened for a more thorough inspection.

Coworker said that the dent looks like a tow hitch from a truck. Only thing we can come up with was someone was parking infront ofme, got super close, dropped the clutch to soon while reversing/going forward and the truck jolted backwards.

Ah man, another one where a dash cam would have got the perpetrator. I am off to Amazon and getting a front and rear dash cam right now with that feature that when the car is bumped it starts recording.

That's a thing? Hmmm let me know which one you end up getting. I may just get one of those too.

They go from $40 to $400 very easy. It looks like most of them now have the g-shock sensor that capture automatically when the car is hit,(even when parked).
It really looks like it comes down to the quality of image captured(best ones are 4k) and all features like wifi, extra storage capacity, etc that make it easier to use.
Then you have the choice of getting two separate cams which is more expensive but will get the best quality for front and rear since the front/rear combo setups come with the rear camera as a lower resolution.
Anything is better than none.
The last time I was about to buy one I got so confused and gave up on whether to spend the $40 for just one front, get two $40 ones for front and one for back or get the combo front/rear.
That is just the 1080p ones for $40 that do a decent job. The 4k ones capture the smile on the persons face as they hit you they are so clear so I'm looking at the more expensive ones this time.
Seeing your hit and the other guy in here a couple days ago that both would have gotten the plate off the car that hit, I will put this to rest and get something before giving up this time.
Might not be tonight since it's 2:30 AM but I'm buying before the weekend.

Well, that's a shame -

I doubt the "frame" (doesn't really have a frame) suffered any damage.

The hood may settle down once the front clip is repaired/replaced.

Now, I know you have contacted your insurance agency?

Did you file a police report?

I suggest you have it inspected at a body shop and get an estimate of repairs from them.

Your car will fix up just fine -

Yeah even bent sheet metal bends back out pretty easily. The frame rails are giant beams under the car that only get bent on fairly strong impacts.

I don't want to call insurance yet, not too sure how this will affect it. I have a clean history, no tickets or anything so my insurance isn't too bad right now but I'm only 22 so my driving history isn't big and I'm not trying to give them any reason to raise my rates. I'm sure this wouldn't effect them but I also would rather fix it myself if it's not a huge expense.

The gap in the hood looks very similar to what happened to mine last year. If so, more than likely it's the fender supports that are tweaked and bent away from the hood, causing the top of the hood to look like its separated from the fender.

That's supported by the way the top of the fender has moved over the headlights to the outside. Either the support is bent out, or it is bent in at the bottom forcing the top out.

Just my two cents worth...

If hit when parked it should be comprehensive which will not affect your premiums (unless you make a bunch of claims). Although if you were looking at aftermarket parts anyway this would be the time to do them.

Dashcam prices and tech are constantly improving, but reliability can be iffy on even the top-rated cams. During your research, scanning verified Amazon reviews can help and buy on a credit card with price matching and extended warranty benefits.

Users in hot climates like the capacitor models that withstand high temps better than the battery models, but the battery models record long after the loss of power and in some other situations.

I'm running Viofo 119's in my cars and SUV, recent upgrades when they were on sale for $50 last year. They're good in low light where most other dashcams fall off.

Here are some recent reviews:

Was it hard to fix in your case? How much did it run you?

Yeah I figured it would fall under that, this is a good excuse for aftermarket parts tho haha. Gotta look at the bright side right.
