I couldn't work out how to remove the upholstery so i did 2 things:
1. Slide seat all the way forward, then tilt it all the way back, then slide seat back as far as it can go. Use your body weight to whale on the loops inside the shoulder bolster.
2. Slide and tilt seat all the way forward, climb into back seat, tilt seat back onto your knees, pull the shoulder loops in the seat back toward you.
Make sure you try to get both sides even, the outside one was a lot more difficult for me.

I would love to see this DIY with pictures of what the inside of the seat looks like, so I would know what exactly I am adjusting, Being a big guy, The seat is a little cramped.

I'm a smaller individual and the side bolsters never fit me snug. I used to have a car with adjustable bolsters that I could snug up to my ribs and the seat really felt like like it fit.

During hard cornering the seatbelt and 86's seat does not firmly hold me in place. Can the side bolsters be snugged up with this same method?

The lower bolsters are for holding you in place. The shoulders are mostly for feedback, being the highest part of the car your body is connected to

That's what I was getting at. Can I adjust the lower bolsters using this method?

I am definitely among those whose shoulders are too wide for the bolsters, which in effect makes me float above much of the backrest.

Could it actually be this simple? I just went out and executed step 1 and I think I feel like I might actually fit *IN* this seat for the first time. I'll have to do a few drives to confirm.

I'm REALLY wide shouldered, and I did this 4yrs ago without removing the covers. I just Manhandled the hell out of it.

I probably could've gone a bit more open, but I was a bit gunshy to "ruin" a brand new car a week after purchase. Still, it made a HUGE difference. Plus, i'm probably better off a bit on the snug side for autoX.
