I realize this topic (the new front end) has been hashed over to death, but have to chime in and agree it's everything (opinion, of course) the 86 shouldn't be.
What appeals/appealed to me about the design is/was it's simple aesthetic, and the new front end (in photos, haven't seen it in person) goes against everything I thought this vehicle was supposed to be about.
Same goes for the new "grand luxe" (sp?) dash and door materials. I don't like (or get) the idea of adding faux suede. Toyota seems to have gone insane w/ this facelift.

Having been in my '15 for 25k miles, the new interior looks like a great place to be in comparison. Think of it this way, the faux suede pieces are 3 fewer parts to rattle and creak in the interior.

I didn't like the FRS's front end when they first came out. It looked a lot better in person than in pictures. I'm hoping it's the same for this one. It's growing on me!

Since the 86 are at dealer lots, are we going to have another section dedicated for 86 or are we combining it with the FRS sections?

Send like out would just divide the forum even more, make it harder top stay on top of all the new topics. And it did "replace"the FRS so...

Anyone mentioned yet about the 4.3 final drive? Seems interesting, wonder how much better it'll feel on the low end.

Just noticed the front tow hook location shenanigans. One wonders if this obsoletes the various alternative plate mount kits. On the other hand, one might be a lot more inclined to front-plate this abomination- every time I see it I find more to hate.

Don't know about the rest of you...but for me...I'm totally disappointed at the blandness of the new 86 interior.

Time to be looking at the BRZ instead...and maybe that's just what Toyota wants us to do.
Sorry Toyota, but you've just fucked up what was a good thing.

I can only read about how the new car/cars drive. Maybe that will be enough to convince me to upgrade to the 2017.

Can't wait to hear many more real life experiences about how the new car actually drives. After all, that's what it's all about.

Does it drive better ? Sounds like the steering has not really been improved. Can't really see what changes have been done to the transmission...as the official statement does not state any gear ratio changes within the transmission itself...though the rear end has been changed from 4.1 to 4.3. And seems there's still a glitch in revving the 'improved' engine.

It's unfortunately still a wait and see for many of us.

Personal note: It's a 280 mile drive for me to get to a Dealership where I can drive the new cars (86 and BRZ)...so hope to find more answers here soon.
