Ya but if Scion still existed it would still be an FRS. It is only their demise that got the rebadge. Whether we like the decision to make it a Scion here or not that was the way they decided to go and they would not be changing that just because a small group complained.
The whole "it didn't sell because it was a Scion" thing baffles me since the BRZ sales and the worldwide 86 sales numbers do not look any better. It hasn't sold massive numbers because it was never intended to sell massive numbers not because it was a Scion.
Let's be honest here, just how many people would have bought it if it was as common as a Camry?

I can't wait to see what the complaints will be when the new trim levels come out and are priced the same as the Toyota 86 in the rest of the world. The FRS cost less for a reason.

These Japanese and Australian reviews are great for the basics but people need to keep in mind such things as the gauge info center and extras may not be as shown (or exist) on ours when they get here.

It seems that the things US trim one is missing are:

The High End Seats (US 86 has seats from the old 2014 ish GT trim seats, they have a cloth mesh center, and some Alcantara bits, with the space invader center)

Guage Dash LCD info(Us have the same as 2016)

HVAC(not offered in the US unless special model TRD/Monogram, or you get a BRZ)
Spoiler
Fog light(might be a dealer option in the USA)

The Right side of the steering wheel Buttons(what ever those are)

Red Stitching (I think it depends on the option you choose, some of the new GT has orange stitching,Red, Grey)

Trying to think what else, I'm unsure if all models come with Sach dampers, or it's just PP models.

Funny thing about the frs. Yeah, more torque would be nice but when I jump in mine after driving a company vehicle the damn thing makes sense. And truthfully mine is rather tail happy with just a tune and power blocks. I understand why Toyota wasn't shooting for big dyno numbers.

The lack of power and pricing of course the number 1,2 most common complaints you'll notice at automotive forums or mag thread comments.

Interior is just downright silly it's not a Lexus or Porsche:

You ever see some older Porsche interiors. They are not even a Porsche in that department!
