funny because i originally signed the papers on a black '14 FRS.
dealer came back with option of White or Red.
went with Red, figured when will i ever buy another red car?
loving the colour so far, it really stands out im loving the firestorm red.
but like some people say, there really is no bad colour on the frs

Well, white is technically all colours, black is no colours and red is a very specific colour.
The only good colour is Lava! (jokes)
As said several times already, there are good points and bad for each, but the car looks great no matter which colour it is painted. I can honestly say I have not yet looked at a picture and thought "oh that looks horrible in that colour"
If you have the cash there is also the option of wrapping it in pretty much any colour you can imagine.

Wait, it comes in colors other than Firestorm?

Obviously I have a bias, but I do think red is the best color on the car in terms of showing off its lines. Also, red never actually looks dirty, it just dulls over time. The downside to red is the primer used is white so when you get paint dings (and you will unless you have protection of some sort) they show up as bright white spots, hard to miss.

To me, Black hides all the lines of the car (flattens it out), although the 5AD and other aero kits look best on black (it hides the ugly bumps and "add on" look of modern aero kits that I don't care for).

White and Silver (and their shades) scream rental or fleet car to me, but that is purely a personal bias from having rented too many cars over the years.

Agree on your thought on the white and silver just because almost every car around now seems to be a variation those colours. Not that they don't look good on the Twins just that they are so common.
The only thought I have with the red is that it is the only non pearl/metallic paint.
The straight colour losses some of the ummmph that the others have in my eye. I get why they didn't do it as red pearl can take on some horrid highlights in the sun. Take a look at a red Mitsubishi if you get the chance and you will see what I mean.
Now having said all that, I would be glad to own any colour of these cars and would probably very quickly think mine was the best colour regardless of what my original thoughts were.

Black with the right rims and all chrome blacked out is, yes!
Kuros picture above is a great example.
Stock, not so much.
But like he said you better love doing detailing.

Whenever I see a lowered black FR-S with wider wheels/tires, it always catches my eye. Black visually shrinks the size of the car, so when lowered on wheels, it looks low and mean.

And yeah my old STI hatch was black and it was a pain to keep clean, but I'm assuming OP knows that.

I have never seen one for real, just pictures but am sure I would agree 100%.
If OP didn't know about keeping clean before they sure would after reading this thread.
One of my favorite things about the orange is it can get pretty dirty before it shows much. Not that I actually let it get that dirty (wife complaining about almost doubled water bill last few months) but it can!

i personally have an addiction to red myself (every car i have owned has been red). Even though i went to the dealer wanting raven ended up with firestorm because firestorm was the only color they had in MT and after test driving and my personal addiction to red I had to have it. Like every one else has said the car looks great in every color except IMO the yellow RS1, its not bad just my least favorite of all the twins.

Hah you're making me wish I bought orange. I've always been partial to that color too.

My white car is perpetually dirty.

Well Team Lava is always recruiting!
My wife followed me right after detailing one afternoon on a bright sunny day, with the sun at our back.
After 5 minutes she called me, both on hands free and said "damn you I can't see shit (she has a potty mouth sometimes) because of the glare from your car".
Knew right then I had bought the right colour.

Red does this as well. I'm always surprised how dirty it actually was when I wash it. It's almost like getting a new paint job (well except for the paint chips!)
